This is got to be the sickest HTC ever made. It's powerful and beautiful. Makes me re-think about my purchase of a Blackberry Curve 8330.

I think most people on here are missing the important points about what this phone has to offer and lacks and are not acknowledging the hard facts.
On the plus side it has adobe flash support which is great adiition, a 5mp camera and a smooth looking customisable interface with nice smooth transitions. Multi touch is a nice addition too and an anti smudge coating. Not to metion obviously the OS is open source.
However on the down side. This phone is rather thick and chunky in comparison to phones like the iphone. No camera flash (which although many think is useless can be useful in darkness if you really need to take a picture). No divx/xvid support. I wonder what video is like on this phone as we all know android has performed poorly in this area to date and this looks to be no exception.
The real issue with this phone though in my mind is the CPU. People on here are talking about this crushing the Iphone 3Gs, but to put it simply you are completely wrong.
The 528mhz Qualcomm CPU in this device gets completely obliterated by the ARM cortex A8 CPU used in the iphone and palm pre. We are talking about a severe difference particularly in load times both with web pages & applications and it will also affect the fluidity of animations and transitions. In fact across all areas both the iphone and pre will show faster load times.
Don't think for 1 seceond that this will be able to stand up against the iphone or the pre in any of those areas, it simply does not have the processing power. The Cortex A8 is a next generation CPU with the power to decode 720p video if implemented correctly, this Qualcomm CPU is not remotely in the same league.
Overall however it is a big step forward for android ,HTC and touch based phones in general trying to rival the iphones dominance. Unfortuinately it will fall short.

Hero is now available at Amazon UK for pre-order at 429.99 pounds. which is roughtly 710 usd and 1030 singapore dollars where i locate.

I actually love the chin on the phone. I wouldnt buy it if it was a stupid plain flat rectangle which makes talking just awkward. And a 5mp camera? Theres no reason to buy an iphone anymore. Apples days are coming to an end. An android phone with a 5mp camera, buttery smooth transitions, in a very thin and sleek design. This is a real winner.

Why is there not a FM-radio in this handset? All the nice phones do never have radio. I would bye this phone or a Iphone if just it had a radio, but Im stucked with a SE W902 beasue this phone have radio.

As a matter of fact, iPhone is not coming up with new phone designs. No doubt they have a big market share in smart phones but do you not think that coming 3rd time with same design will keep their users intact with them for a long time. Change in design is must to prolong the life cycle of the product (Marketing Strategy).
As far comparing Android with iPhone, then I will vote to Android because it is not old OS but still catching pace and have 16% market share as compared to blackberry with 3% only. If any mobile company only work with Android OS and bring new features in its phone then it will be a big challenge for iPhone. Right now iPhone OS developer and Mobile maker is same so they are working good with product but Android is open source and dependent on manufacturer on phone and its spec also.
iPhone is going well but you can't deny that Android is Open Source and in present time Open Source grows more faster than others. Just see how Mozilla is giving hard time to Internet Explorer.... So expect cut throat competition between Android and iPhone OS soon.
