I've updated my hero yesterday about 7pm and everything works great so far even better than 1.5 that i have earlier, bluetooth works superb everything work superb keyboard touch is much better and so on, in the end i am verry satisfied with 2.1 eclair.

dear Jubi:
you can take an application and BLT your files but in new updait (2.1 android) you can BLT your files and you dont need to take any app. but i dont know is there any problem with Android 2.1 in hero???

I upgraded to the 2.1 update expecting it to have the friendstream widget on it... but after searching through it... i couldn't find it anywhere... does anyone know where i can install the friendstream widget onto my hero?

after the update to 2.1 no pairing with my bluetooth.any ideas?

You just need to change the date to 31 july, and the update will pop up. the first one is for prepatory update. whne you finish, it will come with check update feature in settings.
just tap check, then the 2nd update (the 2.1 eclair) is available for download.
It's smoother after the update, but like I said BT file transfer isn't working.

I stay in ... morei updated my phone through wifi (OTA) after changing the device's date several time (first 2011 then 2013 then august.....) and it finally said the update was available,, my phone after the update got a bit sluggier, but others say it got smoothier! maybe it's my new microsd or that i have too much apps installed!

Where to update to 2.1 android for HTC hero..
I stay in Singapore and I dun think the service centre have the 2.1 version yet.. do they?

Got the 2.1 update! needed to ulter the date for 5-6 times till it worked,, my mobile have been a bit slower after changing the 2gb microsd to a 16gb one,, but after the 2.1 update the mobile became even slower and it lags alot,,, hope htc can improve this witha minor update as i forgot the back-up the phone! ;o

good Android phone,
starting to show its age now though, runs a bit slow etc.
Hopefully update to 2.1 will speed this up.
Any ideas when the UK update will be out. I heard end of this month (June), but since it was also coming out before christmas, i dont hold my breath.
