thanks guys for the advice, yesterday I was thinking of HD2 but today when I read your reply encourge to go for something new .. you right guys I need to see the new stuff may be will change the way I look to things . I am kind of guy who never keep the phone for the long time but I am really looking this time for something to last at least for 1 year or longer ..I hope this HTC hero have enogh features to discover ...

i hv not tried to bluetooth anything yet on my Hero.. but on the HTC Touch Cruise 09 i am not able to receive files from others through bluetooth? does anyone know what kind of problem i am facing? if yes, how am i able to solve it? thanks a lot :)

coming from an iPhone, the HTC diamond and the N97, the Hero is the only phone that can really compete with what the iPhone is providing. I love the android OS for its expandability and smoothness.

Android 2.1 (Haaaallelujah)!
Europe will see an upgrade to Android 2.1 from 15th February 2010 (as commented by HTC Poland).

Android 2.1 is much faster
One interesting option is a preview of desktops, you can zoom out two Finders as pages in your browser. Effect. Effectively reduce the deskop, brillant view.
Icons have clear coat (Espresso perhaps?)
At the bottom of the menu we have: phone, menu, contacts
HTC added a nice transition when you quit the application and move around the options.
Lock screen is not rounded.
Faster-running HTC keyboard.
New widgets from HTC (News and Weather, YouTube)
Improved flashplayer. Operates smoothly.
Graphic change in the gallery and video player (Cosmetic procedures)
And the rest of the news, which introduces a new android. (Market etc.)
We have more RAM. About 130-140mb after killing the process. "

hello there
i had the htc hero a month ago and its gr8 the android os is gr8 2 but i was wondering if its true that if i upgraded the os 2 the version 2.1 i can send and receive files over bluetooth??? thanks for ur help :)

Dear ,
I had the same problem two weeks ago. I decided to buy myself one Hero and must say I did excellent job. The phone is just perfect. Everything goes smooth, lots of nice apps, and you may calibrate everything the way you like. The only phone on Windows platform that could be measured with Hero is HTC HD2, but it's price is just too much. Strong advice, don't thing any more go and make yourself a happy man :-)
One more but very important thing, buy white coated because the back side of phone is much better made then on the black.

I am having hard time to decide weather to buy this phone or not. everyday I think about it should I get windows mobile or android , since I have never used android system before . so can anyone give advice if I have any issue buying this phone
