no AVI divx is a massive no no.. for a smart touchscreen phone, capability to watch DVD is a must! (least for me).

A little Tip for those who don't know this already...
To get Hero running even smoother, and get more app installation space...
Root Need!!!!
Update ROM to latest (i use modaco Hero ROM)
Class 6 SDcard (4,8,16 GB) or whatever you can afford
3 Partitions
a. partition 1 -> Format as Fat32 (Enough for data storage)
b. Partition 2 -> Format as Linux ext(2|3|4) -- I use ext3
(For system apps, /system/sd will be moved to sdcard)
c. Partition 3 -> Format as Linux Swap Partition
(Install swapper from market to take advantage of the swap partition)
(I also read this reduces the lifespan of the SDcard)
The Modaco ROM just appears to work great for both apps2sd and swapper
So enjoy the Hero everyone,
Don't take my word for it, Google it info and decide if its the right move for yah.

The contacts are synchronized with the contacts you have in your gmail account. You should yous your phone's software to export the contacts from your phone in csv format and then import that file into gmail. Then sync the phone with gmail and voila ...
I have Nokia and I did that with PC Suite - it has an option to export the contacts in csv file.

Just read the disadvantages of HTC Hero and all I can say is...."Ouch" camera features a bit out dated? Looks like this junk was rushed, maybe if HTC just concentrated on it a bit longer.....
