The trade-off? Megapixels. The One's camera is a mere four-megapixels, which the company admits is a risk compared to the eight-megapixel standard, and the 13-megapixels and up of other flagship devices.
But HTC is right when it says megapixel count is not the most important factor in a camera's quality. Instead it's focused on the 'size' of its sensor's pixels, which reportedly allow 313% more light than those on phones like the Sony Xperia Z. It can also record 1080p video at 30 FPS.

AnonD-45175, 23 Feb 2013amazing phone actually I got the HTC ONE X but why this dev... moreits 4 ultra pixels not mega as htc call it.... this means that the pixels although are lesser in quantity but lets in more light. actually 300 percent than u get in smartphones like xperia z gs3 and iphone 5.. this means better camera than 4*3= 12MP and image saving size is reduced by 3... that means dual benefits... you use lesser space in saving for same quality images and even better lowlight images...

Annonymous, 23 Feb 20132300mah battery is not sufficient for that 468ppi. Will you... moreCurrently I have the Note 2 if you'd like to know. But I'm switching asap :)
2300mAh battery should suffice for a whole day of moderate to heavy use. Look at HTC Butterfly or Droid DNA's battery life with an older processor (eats more energy) a bigger screen (eats more energy) and a smaller (2020mAh) battery and it outlasts GS3 for instance. So newer tech, newer software and a smaller screen drain less battery ;) And by the way, Sense isn't laggy when it has 2GB of RAM under it's hood and Snapdragon processors are literally the coolest around. Wait and you'll see.

sara, 23 Feb 2013i am sharing the same frustation of low MP camera otherwise... moreHigher MP is not always beneficial to a camera, it depends entirely on the rest of the camera components. In some cases more MP is worse.

sara, 23 Feb 2013i am sharing the same frustation of low MP camera otherwise... moremaybe you dont understand the function of the low MP...the only reason you need high MP is if want to print huge posters other than that 5MP is more the enough...given the same size camera sensor one with 14MP and the other is a 5MP the one with 5MP will absorb more light then the 14MP in result the 5MP wins, unless you want to print large posters then the one with larger

The camera is 4 Ultra pixels, a new measurement HTC is using, not 4 MP. Its is still a high resolution.
