AnonD-320858, 08 Apr 2016Don't loose hope wait for marshmallow,it is possible that m... moreYes, i did buy this phone in Oct 2014, i was in dire need of a new phone as my old xperia x8 was busted, i wanted to buy One Plus One but it was not available in India at that point of time, so I went for 2 more options I had left with within my budget which were Xperia Z2 and HTC one e8. I found e8 better and than Z2 at that point of time...! But, now i regret, that I should have waited 2 more months as OPO launched in India in Dec 2014!!
I think that HTC would not provide any software tweaks to implement 4G support for 1800MHz band in India as its more of a hardware related issue than something which can be fixed by updates..!
Anyways, thanks for all the support Bro..! It was nice talking to you.... Good Luck!

I read about the band 1800MHz here and other websites for this phone, while I was buying this phone and knew eventually 1800MHz band would be released in India. Never I had thought that once again I am only buying a 3G device that too with INR 35k! I feel ridiculously duped by HTC now!

AnonD-320858, 06 Apr 2016HTC one e8 support 4g for 1800 band.HI again.. I am using m8sd model and on 5.0.2 Lollipop. I am currently using 4G sim card provided by Vodafone Store in Calcutta few days ago. I am not getting access to 4G or LTE, its only showing H in the notification bar and in settings menu when I go to 'Mobile data'>Slot 1 network>Preferred Network> I am getting only 3 options: (1)Global mode (2)CDMA mode (3)GSM/UMTS mode and under GSM/UMTS mode> again 3 more options: (a)GSM/UMTS Dual (b)GSM only (c)UMTS only. So, there is no option of 4G or LTE in those menus.
I know that Vodafone in Calcutta is providing 1800MHz band for 4G LTE FDD, because I confirmed it from the Vodafone Store Supervisor.
Is it that somehow 4G not activated on my phone but its working for you?

The htc one E8 dual sim phone what i have bought in december 2014 at coimbatore updated with lollypop is only having gsm/3g/ CDMA options. i had chat with htc centre online ,they said no 4g for for my phone after confirming my phone imei(code number).regarding update it is under process. i am upset by HTC for not providing 4g version and cheating with cdma version for 35000 rupees phone. i conveyed my anger to them.what is the point in expecting mm android 6 now.whereas htc m8 got all features.. initially everybody including gsm arena said except the cover and infrared connectivity both are same.official website for htc one e8 dual sim shows only 2g and 3g..the 4g bands for htc one e8 dualsim/cdma are 25(1900)26(850)and 41 (2500). truly no lte or 4g in my phone..thank you

What's the point of posting what the HTC USA has to say about their update plans, when the discussion was predominantly about the Indian model.
And any kind of rumor, whether real Or fake, is very frustrating since everyone here is waiting for the update.
PS:No offense to either of you.

Coming to your post on no updates for E8, it's only after I hit out to you, you came up saying it's true for phones in US. When the discussion here has been for India and people have been asking the same for India, you make a generic statement like as of the "no update" is true for every region, so who's the kid here? For some odd reason, your primary aim is to falsify info and get people agitated. Do something productive instead of this nonsense.

And if u find some spelling mistake than correct them because I don't have time for correcting those mistake.
