In phones nothing can still match galaxy alpha level of framerates. It has a better GPU than adreno 330 and has much less pixels to push. The result is 60 fps in all current games as well a as good future proofing.

The Snapdragon 801 version of Galaxy S5, HTC M8 or Xperia Z2 all of them has the same gaming performance, they is no any visible difference on them.

darkgamer, 02 Sep 2014Congratulations. You are perfectly wrong. Actually not... moreWhat would you say if I told you that M8 has a high performance mode that maximize CPU performance, that mode will give the user a true smooth gaming experience, but the downside that it will drain the hell out of the battery.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2014Actually the htc m8 would fare better in gaming....better s... moreCongratulations. You are perfectly wrong.

Actually note 3 has 3 GB RAM. So there is around 700 MB dedicated as VRAM and 2.3 GB is available. On the other hand m8 can't do that as it has only 2 GB RAM. So it only gives around 300 MB for gaming.

Sense is lighter than touchwiz. I perfectly agree. It's also better looking and faster. But that doesn't mean that touchwiz consumes more RAM. In fact, touchwiz is one of the best skins in RAM management. My s4 always had more than 500 MB RAM free on kitkat.

I agree that m8 has a better GPU which is slightly overclocked. But that'll have a very less difference. Around 1 or 2 fps at max.

On the other hand, the phones i suggested were galaxy alpha and xperia z1 compact. These phones have 720p displays and powerful GPUs. These will fare much better in gaming compared to both m8 and g3. Also due to less load on GPU, they'll heat up lesser.

Seems your firmware has got some issues.
It can be solved by flashing the firmware (by use of odin software).

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2014Quite simply the best Android phone released this year so f... more'cause they are probably brainless samsung's..."fans". I bought M8 and it's absolutly stunning. Smooth and fast OS, fantastic screen resolution, excelent wi-fi and data response, the only incredible stereo speakers on market.....and, last but not least, the most beautiful, sexy, elegant, and feel-in hardware in the smartphone panorama. Handle it and you love it.

AnonD-300385, 31 Aug 2014Friends plzz suggst me which is beeter htc one m8 or lg g3 ... moreIf you want a phone for gaming. Get a phone with powerful processor and less resolution.

For example, g3 has a QHD display. That means there are more pixels to push and hence it gives you lower framerates.

In gaming, m8 won't be much better than note 3 as they use similar processors and same resolution.

For gaming, I'd suggest either galaxy alpha or xperia z1 compact. My recommendation would be alpha as it has a bigger screen for note immersive game play and it has a better GPU too.

Alpha will give you around 3 times the framerates that g3 would give in demanding titles. Z1 compact will give you 2 times of g3.

You can also get iphone 5s. That'll also go great with gaming but it had smaller screen.

If you can wait, iphone 6 and z3 compact are coming.

About the heating, any phone will heat up under high load. They don't have heat sinks or fans. Use a case to avoid heating.

                          Have a nice day

As the CPU defines with Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801, I fully depend the quality and performance on it with Perfect rated 10 - best, the next time HTC will release newer product this year, I definitely buy again.

This looks like a great phone and probably my next purchase but I just wish HTC would allow for a change of battery. Love the fact they've added an SD slot but why oh why have they not allowed for a change of battery???
