Just pointing out to all. MP means NOTHING at all when it comes to quality of photo. It is just the physical size of the photo.
For example 2MP is 1920x1080 resolution, most if not all people would say pictures can look great at this resolution. Where 3MP is standard 2K and so on. No camera should be jugged by how many pixels it has, rather by how it uses them.
It is kind like buying a printer that can do 9000 DPI. The DPI means nothing if it is blurry.
This is why this wonderful site gives us examples of the camera in a controlled setting. Use them as a guide NOT how many pixels something has.

There's a big fuss about the camera but believe me it's good when it comes to low light performance but in bright condition where the problem begins. Overall it takes nice snaps though you can't zoom with 4mp. True camera lover should make their way to s5 or z2 or g3 but if you want a premium feel in an android device and happy to take snaps without zooming then its the best out there. Good luck..

took mine back, the camera wasnt good at all. I use my phone to take pictures of the kids and 4MP isn't good enough. They have to compete with the Samsung and I feel they haven't done so with this phone. Disappointed to say the least. waiting for the iphone 6.

I hate this phone. I am now using my very old Samsung Galaxy S3 and happy.
the camera lense cracked. World wide common issue without damage to the phone.
the lense cover blurred also world wide issue but HTC in Australia are not helping. Need to be in the USA for free repairs.
They wany $400 for the repair. This happened only days after buying.
just google HTC m8 cracked and toy see the reports on many sites.
wish I bought a S5 now have to wait 20 months to upgrade.
will never buy HTC ever again. Pity 5 years ago my HTC desire was great.

I have a problem. My HTC One M8 I can send and recieve both my e-mails from Gmail and ntlworld but cannot see or read my mail from ntlworld. Can someone help me. Vodafone who is my provider cannot help and Virginmedia I cannot talk to. They keep asking for my account number but I dont have one. ??

the htc m8 just blows away the rest in my experince ,had both and the htc is the hands down winner , i would recommend buying this phone.

Im Using this already. its simply awesome. lots of stuffs installed. and about "camera " no need to explain. really crazy photography.
money doesnt matter if you prefer a best to you.

Z2 has some build quality-related problems, but most of Z2's are okay of course. M8 has the better audio chip and speakers, but camera is bad in most situations. I own a M8.

The camera is worse than most of the mid range phones. Even the Galaxy s3 can take better pics.
Although the phone is great overall but just the Camera is bad.

I bought m8 due to better battery time than samsung. Beside tired of same design from Samsung.i love my m8. Awesome steel body. Super camera. Front is more good. Boom sound feature i love it.

Samsung s5 and z2 are much more rated and they are also dust resistant.
Even my s4 was left in rain for 5 hours and i dried it and ran it, it worked. That doesn't mean it's water resistant. It'll die if i drop in 1 metre depth.
It depends a lot on pressure.
