Hmmm ... , 29 Jun 2014HTC One M8 or LG G3?!?!?! Has anybody tested both? Which ph... moreI've been using HTC M8 since three months, I'm extremely happy with this. M8 and G3 are certainly great phones. Although, I prefer the HTC M8 over the LG G. LG G3 not even arrived to my country yet. But I did extensive research about this phone.

QHD display is the main competitive advantage that G3 has. However, the display on G3 is not brighter than the M8, it's quite dim. Even though it's QHD, I think still the M8 display is better than the G3 display.

Next thing is the user interface. I have used many Android phones, HTC Sense is the most user-friendly and elegant UI than any Android skin. The Optimus UI definitely has many features and customisations than HTC Sense; anyway, they are not really necessary in day to day life. Optimus UI is too cartoonish and not much user-friendly as HTC Sense. Similarly, the battery life of G3 is little bit disappointing than HTC M8.

If you highly concern about the camera, without any doubt G3 wins. Anyway, the camera is not the only factor that we concern on a phone. The M8 camera still gives you descent looking images, it's not so bad as many people say. If you are an average photographer, the M8 camera still can satisfy you.

Finally, lets talk about updates. HTC and Samsung release updates as soon as possible than many others. However, LG takes too long to release updates. It's kind of annoying me.

I don't force you to buy the HTC M8, but think wisely before you going to make your purchasing decision.

I am using HTC One M8 for about a month now, and I found it to be really the only 'ONE' of its kind. It may sound exaggeration but you can search everywhere and you won't be able to find a Smartphone Device so elegant. The innovations that has gone into it will make you feel like it has landed from the future itself or you are being part of future.

HTC One M8 is fully loaded smartphone with state of the art design and features like Zoe, Boomsound, Ultrapixel, Duo Camera, Sixth Sense, Motion Launch , Enhanced Camera Features and what not.

The 'One' M8 Design & Look - Designed to Impress

The HTC One M8 combines stunning cut and curves with new looks, curvy design, sleek features, big screen and easy to hold and handle. It was only when I got HTC One M8 in my hands, I felt... "Wow.. its just awesome. The design, overall feel in the hands, metal finishing really gives altogether a different experience."

Metal wraps around every edge of HTC One M8, and increase in Metal percentage from 70% to 90%(over HTC One M7) is evident the moment you hold HTC One M8.

The curves of HTC One M8 fit the hands and pocket really nicely. In fact with screen facing down when HTC One M8 is in pocket, because of smooth curves, from outside you actually can't find out if you have something in your pocket. Because of the smooth design and curves, its actually very easy to walk with the same in pockets.

Being an all Metallic Phone , people tend to think that it would be slippery and would not be easy on hands. But that's totally not true. In fact it really feels awesome holding the same with a strong grip because of its design.

HTC One M8 is thinner than its predecessors with an all metallic chassis and light weight at the same time. The zero gap construction shows how much thought has gone into the Design part.

The 'One' M8 Hardware - Build to perform

Its a unique smartphone when it comes to hardware, starting from battery life, to connectivity, to processing power its a beast. There is no task HTC One M8 can't perform with its Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. With 2600mAh Battery you can go on and on and on. The Extreme Power Saving Mode feature is really an interesting and awesome feature, that really saves us from those odd situations where we don't have enough juice left in the phone and still have to go on. In Extreme Power Saving Mode the HTC One M8 can last up to 30 hours on standby with just 10% charge. HTC One M8 also offers seamless connectivity through multiple tech advancements.Total Internal storage is 16GB/32GB and its having Expansion card slot which supports microSD memory card for up to 128GB additional storage. So you don't have to worry about memory anytime. With 2 GB DDR2 RAM combined with High Processing Speed of HTC One M8, you will never find a lag in any of the activity/functionality.

The 'One' M8 Functionality - Performance at its Best

HTC One M8 with awesome Hardware and stunning looks is equally powerful in terms of features it offers. HTC Sixth Sense - Enhanced Blinkfeed, Motion Launch Gestures, Sense TV, Upgraded Camera Features and Gallery, BoomSound - you name it. Not to mention totally different concept of Ultrapixel innovation which is a must for low light shooting for its unbeatable performance.

Enhanced BlinkFeed - Get what matters most at one place.
Blinkfeed is really much easier to use with much smoother navigation experience.Integration with lot more vendors and apps gives more flexibility.

Motion Launch Gestures - Easy Smartphone Hacks
The new Motion Launch Gestures are really awesome and really makes our life very easy for even small small things.Auto Answer and Voice Dialing is also something which is very much helpful.

Color Coded Themes and Customizable Fonts - Switch with the Moods
All the fonts available are really awesome, and changing the same just changes the overall look and feel in a better way. With each theme its not the same HTC One M8.

Camera Features and Gallery - Discover the photographer in you!
Camera effects(UFocus effects, Duo Camera’s Foregrounder, Dimension Plus and Seasons features, Zoe Camera and Zoe functionality, Panoramic Mode) are really awesome. In fact HTC One M8 with its Camera Hardware and Features can revive anyone's interest in Photography. The photos are also arranged very nicely in gallery and navigation through the same is also very easy and much better.

Boom Sound - Catch every beat
HTC BoomSound with dual front-facing speakers project audio directly at you. The sound is really very crisp, rich, and full. The HTC One M8 features a new multi-band amplifier that enhances the volume and sound quality, and boosts bass while keeping the mid/high frequencies very clear.

Sense TV - Only remote you need
HTC Sense TV , Social and Sports features are just handy with awesome end user experience.

So I must say and admit that the overall experience with Sense 6 is really awesome.

The 'One' and only Verdict - Wait is Over

Everything about HTC One M8 is special, be it memory capacity(internal and external)or the awesome looks or the metal design or the color variants in which its available or the wider availability in many countries with many carriers or the Sense 6 which gives the best end user experience or the awesome look and feel or the awesome duo cameras and the ultra pixel camera which gives the best shots in low light conditions or the fastest responsiveness ever or the awesome camera effects or the enhanced blinkfeed features or the awesomeness feeling which we get because we know that we have the best in our hands. Needless to say, if you want one(phone), you must/should have 'One'(HTC One M8).

This one is My Soul M8

Just when I thought the One is the best, it does indeed get better.
The rigid design, the way it falls perfectly into my palm.
The sleek and clean UI, the amazingly fast processor, and all the features totally blow me away.

The camera works so good especially under lowlight condition. But more than that, the manual setting lets me get the result as I expected. And I can save the setting as my default. The Ufocus (updated) is super neat too.

The BoomSound in M8 definitely produces stronger, sharper and cleaner sound than before.

And the battery, lasts a day for my normal (heavy-moderate) usage!

So when HTC sent me this phone for review I definitely get the best experience. Hence, this one is my soul m8.

I am coming from the M7 and at first I thought it is gonna be a slight update.
              Boy, I was so wrong!

              let's start from the camera.
It has Duo Camera feature that lets me adjust the bokeh on my pictures. It is a nice feature and certainly has a lot of creative potential, but it still has room for improvements. The 4MP UltraPixel camera is just nice for me. I don't do a lot of cropping and I am used to wide angle lenses if shooting with my film rangefinders. The file output size is just right for social media posting, which is what majority of the people do anyway, so I have no complain here. That said, it will be great if HTC can include a higher megapixel count UltraPixel camera next year. I think that will really cause a stir remembering that even with 4MP, the M7 and M8 can hold their candles to other flagships.

moving on to the Sound Quality.
              Hearing is Believing.
You have to hear it to believe it. HTC has made improvements over the M7's BoomSound, making it crisper and louder in the M8. I don't even dare turning it more than halfway up because I don't want my flatmates to be disturbed by the loudness. And not just about loudness, the speakers screams quality, too. It has controlled bass and nice highs that doesn't sound too overpowering nor crackling.
The M8 simply has the best audio output among today's smartphones.

Next is the screen and UI's ease of use.
Well, I have to say that I am again impressed by HTC. The gorgeous screen coupled with a very mature-looking Sense 6 is a joy to look and use. It may not have the deep black like AMOLED does, but blacks are still deep and under-sunlight performance is above my expectations. The UI is an improvement; flatter menu icons, some navigational redesigns, all in all makes the experience very enjoyable and simple.
Motion Launch is a very welcome addition to the software. After just a few days of use, I am so used to it, I thought the M7 could do that as well when I picked it up.
Love the look of Sense 6, easily the best Android skin around.

Now, let's talk about battery life.
I get almost 20 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy usage, which includes always-on WiFi, 4 hrs of FLAC music playing through the BoomSound stereo speakers, some 2048 games, an hour or so browsing, and checking Social Media every now and then. 18% left at 1 am in the morning, just before I went to bed. I only managed to get about 12 hours in the M7 with that kind of usage. I have not yet tested the Extreme Battery Saver mode.

              Look and Feel.
Now, I really don't know what to write here. You just have to see it and feel it. It has that nice, cold metal feeling. It's much grippier than last year's M7. And with those rounded edges, it feels better in the hands. I have the gunmetal grey, and I love the color and the brushed metal look so much. One gripe about it is that, the LED is not as nicely hidden as the M7, as some light is bleeding out from the speaker grills. But, that said, the LED seems brighter than the one in the M7.
If you are afraid of scratching your brand new phone, fret not, because HTC has included a high-quality, precision-cut TPU-Rubber case in the packaging. It fits like a glove and will protect your phone from light scratches and bumps.

At last, I would really like to recommend this phone to anyone who prefers simplicity over exaggeration, functionality versus gimmicky, those who value design and beauty. You won't go wrong with this phone. Trust me, ask the internet.
