By far the best designed phone of 2014. The elegance and decency of this phone is inexpressible.

Its low-light performances are stunning. However, daylight performances are not so good as the Galaxy S5 or Lumia phones, but it's not disappointing you.
Overall the M8 is an excellent phone that you will never boring.

AnonD-89109, 10 May 2014Hey thanks for pointing out your views about the S5. Honest... more@saurav ghosh htc m8 is already available in kolkata. Masterjee had foreign version before launch and I have purchased the indian version on the launch day itself. Other than that many retailers are already having the phone. And the slippery part. It's a bit slippery but you won't notice it in our city temperature.

I hope someday there will be... moreSorry for the inconvenience caused by our comments. But frankly htc forums are the only ones which have sensible people and interaction can be done. Samsung forums are filled by trolls and Samsung haters who bash the phones. Sony and apple forums are filled with their respective die hard fans who will never break their brand loyalty.
The forums are haphazard for initial 1 or 2 months for every phone but after that only the actual users will come here and hence you won't have any problems.
I won't post any long useless off-topic posts from now. Once again, sorry.
Have a nice day

shubham yadav, 09 May 2014Saurav, I went to a store today to check out s5 and m8 (esp... moreHey thanks for pointing out your views about the S5. Honestly I was thinking about buying it yesterday. You are totally right about the back cover, those dotted band aid type looks are really bad, but it will give you more grip undoubtedly, which is a big plus really.
No, here in Kolkata, the local stores still don't have any M8, they are saying it will come this Monday. But I will be only given a dummy version to check out, which is meaningless. About the grip on the M8, it's quite clear from the XDA posts that the Gunmetal Grey is the most slippery one, so I will avoid it at any cost. Silver will be my choice, as it gives much more grip than the Grey version, again this is as per XDA users, however by seeing the number of users I can safely assume they are right.
About Samsung and chipset confusion, I have nothing to say really. 60k for Snapdragon version? Jeez! It's selling on eBay for 39k, from a hugely reputable seller. So if I get the S5 it will be that one surely, yes I won't have any warranty, but I honestly don't care about it.
The decision is just getting harder and harder. On one hand the beautiful metal M8 of fantastic build quality with sexy and fluid Sense, with a beautiful speaker which will help for calls with crisper and much richer voice, loud too, but an awful camera, and on the other hand a plastic phone of very good build quality with great grip at lightweight with IP67 certification and a really nice camera, way better than M8's but with awful laggy and bloated TouchWiz, and basically minimal to no support from XDA. S5's LED is also much brighter and bigger and prominent than M8.
Frak!

AnonD-89109, 09 May 2014As long as it's unlocked it WILL work flawlessly. If I buy ... moreSaurav, I went to a store today to check out s5 and m8 (especially the lens). Unfortunately they didn't have m8 but I had a chance to look at the s5. The design feels the same as s4 but Phone fits great in hand and the perforated back is great. It provides good grip and feel. Wondering how m8 will feel as it must me much better. Anyways, let's come to the point.
The phone was fast and didn't even feel warm after using heavily for 30 min. I doubted as exynos must get atleast a little warm. I went to the about phone to check the phone version but they listed as sm g900x. And that means we can't find it that way. So I restarted the phone. Still the model no. Didn't appear when phone was starting. Finally I sent the cpu z apk to the phone and found out that it was the snapdragon version. This is really double standards by Samsung. The demo units are snapdragon and they sell us exynos. How can they do this. I asked the store manager and he didn't even know that there are 2 versions. Stupid. Now I'm confused as I can't even try exynos before buying. When I asked him that can he get me snapdragon he told that he'll take 60k. I'm pissed off.
What have you found out. Tried m8??
have a nice day

Meera, 09 May 2014Hie!! i stay in India and i'm very keen to buy the HTC M8 ... moreAs long as it's unlocked it WILL work flawlessly. If I buy this I will buy from US too. Indian versions are mostly 16 GB and more pricey, so it's kinda meaningless to go for the Indian versions, unless one needs warranty badly.

I got an unlocked version M8 (32GB) from UK, & absolutely lovin it. I must say that this is a real beauty in its own class. It is a fully metallic unibody (0 gap) beauty filled with loads of features which cannot be missed.
Display is absolutely sharp.
Call clarity is absolutely crystal clear.
Ultrapixel Cam gives you better images/videos which is much much better than that of S4, S5 & other models in the same range.
Internet connectivity is great both in 3G as well as 2g (And this is also 4G compatible)
Blinkfeed, Zoe & other features are included (just like in that of M7)
The best ever improvement in this is the battery life. It lasted longer than what i expected (after hours of browsing, capturing pics & vids, playing videos, listening to music, gaming for almost entire day my battery had 38%.) You also have extreme power saver mode which can be used for 36hrs (Battery under 10% & without charge)
It can charge up fully in 1 & half hour max. (Alternatively, you can purchase Quick charge 2 which can enable to charge even faster)
Memory: I got this 32gb (inbuilt) which can be expanded upto whooping 128g (but card must be purchased separately)
As per the info on some web, HTC M8 costs around 48/49k.
