AnonD-116479, 07 May 2014I'm not a fan boy, I have been using smartphones since 2010... moreYou still didn't answer to my query mate.

I have bought phones worth over a million in past 7-8 years, that's not the point here. I was a SE user from 2004-2009, then moved to Samsung. Undoubtedly SE was WAY superior in everything, but then that OLED panel tech attracted me to Samsung. I don't have any problem or any biased view towards any brand either. I just need a good phone, doesn't matter what brand it has. However Apple is out of my league, have used iPhone 5S, and it's better to have an irrecoverable disease than having it, again that's not the point.

I simply can't believe this problem with hTC M8. I mean everybody puts an oleophobic coating on the lens nowadays, and this phone is targeted to more refined or elegant users, who cares for build material, build quality, so it just doesn't make any sense. It's totally hTC's responsibility. This is basic, nothing extra ordinary needed to be done! It's like painting a very cheap colour to a BMW! Meaningless.

I would take Samsung plastic without these stupid problems any day over this childish hardware nonsense of a premium metal. And people know how much I dislike Samsung.

However, the application which I mentioned earlier should work. Try it after restart of your phone. Anyway, Astro File manager perfectly work to me and it's easier and better than the other one. Did you buy a M8?

    Do it like this.

        * M8 suitable for people who looking for a good looking entertainment phone with smooth Android experiences.

        * S5 ideal for advance users who looking bulky features.

Anyway, I even concern about the upcoming iPhone 6. If it meets my preferences, I'll sell the M8 and buy a iPhone 6. Whatever people say no phone one can beat the performances of a iPhone. The reason why I don't like them, its display is too small for me. I expect at least 4.7 inches display.

        Good luck!

Anonymous, 07 May 2014Hi Shubham, I was reading your comments. Your last sentence... moreEverybody has many questions before getting a phone. If he wants to answer it, he will. There's No reason for you to bash me. I have answered a lot of more stupid questions than this one on the i9500 forum. I have the right to ask as many questions as I desire and if he is ready to answer it, what the hell is your problem.

We all know that m8 will have faster response time than s5 due to sense. But I think I can manage s5 and won't buy m8 just as it is fast. I'll go to the store and check.

It's does't matter abstinence of built-in file manager. There are ample of third party apps available in the Google play store. All you need is get the work done.

Other products have a built-in file manager which you can use to transfer files from internal to external memory. Samsung already have a way around this. Better to buy Samsung or other products. Htc can't provide a simple file manager that even little China phone has. Sorry for you htc. You brought m8 with kitkat and you include a memory card slot. So what is the use?

shubham yadav, 07 May 2014You already had an m7 and still you did buy am m8. Can you ... moreAll the phones look slightly different from it's previous version. I think phone manufacturers don't include all of their innovations in an one phone.

The M8 looks same as the M7. But it's difference from inside. There are lot of hidden features on the M8. I can't explain every thing here.

Overall I prefer the HTC M8. The S5 full of features but entertainment wise it's really poor. The music quality of the S5 is really cheap. My brother's Nokia N9 even has a better music quality. Similarly, I don't like its loudspeakers. It's really annoying to take a loudspeaker call form the S5.

I like the motion gestures of the M8 that you never need to press the power button and it's really easy for day to day usage. The charging port of the S5 is really annoying which exists as covered. I always have to remove the cover to charge.

shubham yadav, 07 May 2014You already had an m7 and still you did buy am m8. Can you ... moreI have already sold my M7. I got a M8 and S5 for my birthday. I decided to keep the M8 and sell the Gaalxy S5. I haven't sold it yet. But I'll obviously sell because there is no any reason for keeping two high-end phones. The S5 I got is a Snapdragon 801 version it's not the Exynos 5 Octa 5422 version.

I can't give any opinion about it because I haven't touched that version. But comparing the Snapdragon 801 version of both phone. I can say without any doubt that M8 slightly faster than the S5. Apps and games are loading on the M8 2-3 seconds faster than the S5. Similarly, the web browsing speed also faster on the M8. Download speed could be higher on the S5 because of its download booster. Honestly new TouchWiz doesn't lag much as the previous version; although, it's not smooth as the HTC Sense. But TouchWiz full of tons of features.

Unfortunately I don't like the on screen display buttons of the M8. They using some space of the display, captive buttons of the S5 look fine to me. Anyway, responsiveness of the M8 display really faster than the S5. Simply it's the world fastest responsive phone display in the world.

Finally, I think that depth lens get easily finger prints. However, they seem like premium quality scratch resistance glasses. HTC offers you free one time display replacement within the warranty period when your display get cracked or scratched by what ever reason. I'm not exactly sure whether it's applicable for camera lenses.

Your last sentence which you have highlighted was about smudging and that was answered by techno j. And now you have changed your question. Can you Pl think twice and pen down your issue. It seems you want to prove how knowledgeable you are. I think and believe we purchase high end phone based on overall performances and it varies on individual priorities. Ofcourse research is important but then one should not be biased. M8, S5,Z2 and upcoming G3 or iPhone 6 and lumias all are great phones even one plas one is excellent. So Pl make your decision accordingly and don't try to show your disliking or knowledge. Regards

wich is the difference between htc m8 and htc m8 CDMA?

AnonD-116479, 07 May 2014I'm not a fan boy, I have been using smartphones since 2010... moreYou already had an m7 and still you did buy am m8. Can you tell me any reason. The screen is the same. It's slightly bigger but that is compromised by on screen buttons. I don't think there is any difference between them except the SOC and OIS. The m8 just has one single advantage of having snapdragon 801.

And m7 doesn't have the issue. Can you tell me one thing. Just look at the 2 lenses of m8. The primary and the depth one. Can you tell that the depth one picks a lot less dirt than the primary and the glass is of higher quality.

And IT IS THE MANUFACTURERS fault if it sticks an untreated fragile glass for the camera in such a premium phone. And a good glass for the useless depth sensor.

Just this is my question. Can you confirm it.

Throughout these four years I have bought at least one single phone from many reputed brands such as Apple, Samsung, Sony and HTC.

I bought the M8 because it's overall satisfy my preferences. However, there are some certain things that I don't like in the M8. Although, nothing to do I have to buy it. There are some certain things that I love in S5; although, it's not satisfy my overall preferences.

Anyway, iPhone 6 has to release in September. If it meets my preferences better than my M8, I'll sell the M8 and buy a iPhone 6.

I'm not a fan boy and I'm purchasing a phone which can overall satisfy my preferences. I don't concern on a single aspect but overall. It's utterly doesn't important to me the brand name of the phone.

shubham yadav, 07 May 2014Hi techno j. That wasn't just the smudge. He also reported ... moreI have been using two HTC Phone (M7 & M8). I haven't faced any single of problem with them. I purchased the M8 two weeks ago, so far I cleaned the lens just one time that because of my finger prints on the cam lens. It got way just a single wipe with the microfiber cloth. Don't clean the lens anything else other than microfiber cloths. Similarly, it's not good to clean your cam lens more often. Just clean the lens it's really necessary.

Sometimes people put all the blame on the manufacture just because of their heedlessness. So, we have nothing to do with them. It's our responsibility to take proper care of our phone that we spent huge amount to buy them. It's simply not the phone manufacturer's responsibility.

As Subham asked, how often do you need to clean the lens? Is that every time before taking a shot? Everyone has a pile of microfibre cloths in their home. So cleaning periodically won't be an issue, but cleaning it often is, and more than an issue it's unacceptable from a 'premium' set like this.

It's right, I have used the S4 for eight months, and it never needed any wiping stuffs, I did it some times, just because I liked to clean it, not because I had to.

I have asked about the same on M8's Indian owners topic, and only got one response so far, and that is negative, I mean positive for the problem, which is NOT good. Will wait till other users leave their input in this matter, hope I won't have to face any fanboys.

The number of Megapixels does not equate to quality.
They're only beneficial if you are to print those shots in a huge tarpaulin, but you wouldn't use a cellphone for that would you?
