Keep in mind that the HTC One (M8) is a phone, not a professional grade camera. It's an everyday device and they feel it's more practical for everyday use. But it has it's ups, such as it's aperture allows one to take low light pictures with miniscule noise. You can look up UltraPixels and there are several articles spread among the internet explaining it and why. Just shedding light on the low MegaPixel crap.

HTC camera 4 mp should not be as bad as regular 4 mp cameras if I am not mistaken. Rgds

I have a HTC ONE, and the pictures are beautiful and so clear, I can only imagine how much better this one will be.

HTC are so dumb.. they're doing exactly the same mistake as last year with their shitty 4MP camera.. I really don't understand their policy.. The phone could have been perfect. And yes, for me the camera is a crucial decision when I'm choosing a phone to buy because you do not care your reflex camera with you every day.. So when you want to take an instant pic from something you see outside, you expect some quality from the picture you've just taken.. I have the ONE M7 atm, the camera is crap (does his job at night only), the battery is crap, the rest is fine.. I was expecting something else from them.. Rather buy the galaxy S5..

What they are believing is, always the higher spec. gives better performance than the lower spec. They only think about the numerical values, but not the real-life performance.
Let me give you a best example. Take a look at this camera shootout between the last year HTC M7 vs Xperia Z1.

Which camera have performed better here? It's obviously the HTC M7. Then, let's have a look on the megapixel amount both of these camera.
HTC One (M7) = 4 mp
Xperia Z1 = 20 mp
So, did higher megapixels gave you any advantage in image quality wise?
Megapixel amount reflect the frame rate (resolution) of a photo. Honestly, the main disadvantage of lower megapixels is, lack of zooming capability. So, this issue is always present in HTC phones. Remember, you will face this issue if you zoom photos only on a computer display, but not on a phone display.
Finally, let's have a look on camera shootout between the HTC M8 vs Galaxy S5.

But I discovered that they are packed.their hardware such as battery and cheap and led aren't avaliable .so I decided to by Samsung not 3 n900 .I have it a week. It's not bad

They should have gone to 8 megapixel cam not put in a poxy depth sensor that does not even do it right anyway..
If they had put in 8MP cam and 4K video this would have been smartphone of the year,,build quality/audio/battery life/screen/speed are all top notch ..If you can put up with cameras shortfall its best smartphone on market ATM.
What I have done is swallowed up that last years HTC ONE does not have micro sd slot and bought one second hasnd today for 200GBP 32GB version silver.

It has helped me take a lot of great shots and people love the photos. I went to a party recently with my friends and everyone wanted my phone to take photos with.. every shot looked great and had amazing clarity.. yes it does over expose few photos taken in bright light but that's a minor issue to me. HTC uses just 4mp and it still beats phones that have a higher megapixel count. People should realize that more isn't always better.

Different people have different ideas and no phone is perfect as soon as they are inventing new.
The quality of a phone is depend upon the idea of holder .
As for me , I like HTC rather than Samsung
