Then when everyone has 4k, there will be 8k and so on and so on. It's called marketing (planned obsolescence).

Not sure why but why does everyone go for HTC, Apple, and Samsung. I love the HTC M series, I have had the first two but out of all of them the Motorola Droid Turbo beats them hands down on every spec. I will be trying the M9 but can't see how it will come close to the Turbo.

still no OIs n htc will most provably go for 2k display when every phone manufacturer i.e samsung,sony,LG will go for 4k.This is HTC's business policy as they do less but make profit more.when every manufacturer will go after 4k display than demand of 2k will be subsided hance its price will be less so only this occasion htc will provide you 2k

Why is everyone obsessive with huge phones? They can't fit into pockets, can't be operated with one hand. It is the only reason why I didn't buy nexus 6. It's a good decision to keep the screen size at 5'. Also, 1080 resolution is more than good for a 5' screen, no one can notice a big difference between a UHD and QHD mobile display. I'll definitely buy this phone.

HTC dual speakers are too good..no phone's speaker sounds so natural,so live like htc's boomsound speakers.hope htc m9 will have even better...

If a smartphone containing 2k display provide u 6/7 hour screen on time whats wrong in it !!! Good battery backup is one of the motto of smartphone.But people dnt buy smartphone just for it...If there is no need of 2k pixel handset than smartphone manufacterer i.e samsung,sony,LG wouldn't make it. They make it what we demand ....HTC will also make 2k/4k display later.But matter is that if HTC make FHD,HD Display u say wah,wah when they will make 2k,4k u will also say that.what they make everytging right to some people...

I really can't see why anyone would want a 2k or even 4k display when there are little to no gains compared to FHD on such a small screen. & BTW i prefer 5"

I am big iPhone fan but I must say: HTC is doing well with the M series .. I have M8 and it is excellent phone but seems like M9 won't be big upgrade! lets wait and see..!!

And Bezel is not thin at all.while note 4 only 8.5 mm with 5"7 inch it is 5 inch only but thickness is 9.5 mm

[deleted post]There's no need of QHD, let alone UHD on smartphones around this size. These kinds of display not only worsen the performance, but they suck the battery like a vampire as well. In order to compensate the battery life, the smartphone needs a bigger battery, which in turn makes the smartphone bigger, and thicker. You don't want a 15mm thick phone, do you?
Besides, what's the point of having a ridiculous amount of pixels in a 5"-5.5" display? You're unlikely to benefit from the pixel density unless you regularly watch the screen at an extremely close distance.*
You might say that S810 will compensate for the performance loss. Well, to be honest you might be true. But why not utilise the beastly S810 with the humble FHD for much much better performance, with virtually 0 lags at all.
Looks like I've given the points necessary to counter your statement. Therefore, I will not response to any further arguments. Period.

[deleted post]To have a 2K screen on your phone is more than usseles ! But some gimmick lovers like you wan't 4K screens on a phone ! The batterys today can barly take you 1 day with heavy use on 1080p and less than one day with 2K screens and you wan't 4K ... I can understand some people , let's ask for all the usseles things possible on a phone ...
