This phone has amazing battery life like 2 day or more.
please root your phone then install No-frill CPU Control
in No-frill CPU Control go to settings tick prevent changes from other apps
now in main app set min clock frequency to 384 MHz and tick apply on boot and save
now enjoy long battery life and less heat and also snappy performance.
DONT KNOW WHY HTC LOCKED FREQUENCIES AT MAX.

If you wanna update to Marshmallow and no updates available on your phone as per update option on your phone's settings, just download and install HTC Sync Manager on your PC and update your phone using it
