Only updates were 4.4.2 in February, then 4.4.2 again but with sense 6 in July.
And the frequent HTC app updates that I now get from the play store after the sense update to 6.

Hi HTC One max users, have you guys receive a software update on your device? Because I did received yesterday via OTA.

        Here's the details:

        Software update: 3.23.707.1 (145.58 MB)

This update contains important enhancements and bug fixes, including:
        - System security improvement.

There you go, I already update the new software version and it has some noticeable changes on "settings" interface of the phone. You can now also assign a separate wallpaper on your lockscreen. It would be nice if HTC provide the change log for this update.

Anyhow, Thanks HTC. Looking forward for 4.4.4. :)

if we don't get 4.3 we will get 4.4.4 by years end and that will have it.
but just to be sure, you guys/gals should keep asking HTC official support page for the file manager in our next update.
As i have been doing as soon as i got 4.4.2
The more customers that ask for it the higher the chances of getting it.

Kitkat 4.4.3 update has brought a file manager to m8 thus solving the problem of Kitkat SD card slot. Are we expecting such update to one max?

                Okay people,
I found out the hard way that this phone is not water resistant.
About a day or so after getting caught in the rain mounting biking the touch screen began to give trouble. It was only after doing a factory reset (which did not help) and then turning on “Show Touches” in Developer options I realised it was registering that I was touching up and down the entire left side of the screen even when the phone was not in my hand. Though I could see no damage to the screen and my phone was in a case, I concluded it had to be moisture on the inside that I could not see.
My phone spent the entire weekend in an electronics dehydration bag, and I’m happy to say its back to normal.
The moral of this story is. Keep this phone away from any kind of water. But if shit happens, those molecular sieve desiccant beads really do work to dry out your phone when you can’t take it apart.

just know that the Verizon version of the note 3 has no sim slot or support for the GSM network, just like the Verizon version of the ONE MAX, so there is no way the verizon version would work on the AT&T network.

With the 16gb? Tsk i prefer the 32gb cause i wanted to have a bigger memory and of course the version with LTE compatible to us cariers like tmobile & atnt. But the versions on amazons are the euro wc is not compatible to u.s LTE. Asia version is the only compatible but due to its 16gb instead of 32 id rather not buy it. Ill just go with the note3 i guess. Well thank u again godbless

HTC and other manufacturers want to sell their devices around the world. Different regions have different laws, both (copyright) & communications. So the ROM is amended to abide by the laws so the service providers will order the phones in mass quantities in there country. So there are many version at a software level, not just the 4 you mentioned. I personally have the Hong Kong version. Each version is identified by a software number. If you type 3.20.708.3 into Google search you will see the one I got.
Then there are the hardware differences, some providers use CDMA system for voice calls and the rest use GSM. As CDMA don't use a SIM card it's something that the manufacturer can choose to leave out to cut cost or use the physical space for other hardware or leave the SIM slot in to make the CDMA phone an a.k.a world phone. On the other hand phones being made for a GSM market will never work on the CDMA network because GSM phones keep there number on the SIM where as CDMA phones have their number built into the phone.
I got my phone on Amazon as well.
I don't live in the USA or Hong Kong.
But I ordered the Hong Kong model because it was GSM, and had the factory unlock EDGE & H+ radio frequency my service provider uses + I was getting it in black. LoL.
