It's interfering with the ability of the capacitive screen to detect the electrical signature of your (live) touch. It's already weak by passing through a style, so adding the screen protector to the equation is making the electrical signature that much weaker. Use your finger or remove the screen protector.

I just contacted HTC support about getting a default file manager on the ONE MAX for the Android 4.4.2 ROMs because if the EXT SD write restriction on downloaded apps. And was surprised that the rep didn’t know anything about the problem and had to look it up.
I am of the opinion if more owners of this phone write them about getting a default file manager, we will get one as an update. Come on guys, do your part and write HTC asking for this.

That is one of the security updates of kitkat on all brand phones.
No downloaded (3rd party app) is allowed write access to the EXT SD. only apps that came with the ROM can write to the EXT SD. E.g. camera, gallery, Polaris, bluetooth, voice recorder, default email app, default download app. (file managing must be done from within the app.
Work Around
If you want to manage your EXT SD from a 3rd party explorer, you have to put your card in a card reader and connect it to the phone using a USB OTG cable.
Or you can also manage it by connecting to a PC and use file explorer on the PC.
this is something I commented on a lot before in this forum. To bad you didn't read it before you updated.
If only there was a way to force HTC to make a default file manager for this phone as Samsung did on there phones.

i have a problem!!!
since I've upgraded my os to kitkat, my microSD memory become useless. I cant copy or paste files in & out of SD Card.
what can i do?

Battery life is amazing in this device
I cant kill it in 1 day even if i stress hard on the device and last 3 days on normal use
Sound quality and volume perfect
Camera excellent
Size of this device so beautifull , "when you own this device you can understand what i mean " every single person ask me what is that beautifull monster !!!

Don’t take my comments as an attack directed at you as it is far from it.
but In the age of the internet any one can download a user manual and know what features and specs a phone has. But that doesn't help with giving the reader any idea of how the real world user experience is. And that is what I’m asking you about, not what I can read in a PDF. You gave your views about the screen and camera but how does the rest that I can’t read in the PDF compeer?
I read the PDF for the ONE MAX (every page) before I got one. But after using it I can say the PDF don’t tell you a lot of things I found out on my own. (Most I liked, some I didn’t)

Anonymous, 14 May 2014The question I answered is which screen is better. Which I ... moreNot arguing (?) Means question. You recommend going for note 3 based on your use of note 2 and MAX. I ran from Samsung because of touchwiz and audio quality on SIII for 2 years and a few minutes on S5.
As I don't recommend a phone just on a camera and screen alone but overall performance, could you answer the questions as you are using both note ll and MAX? but if you don't feel like answering that's ok too because I'm satisfied with my change away from Samsung till they make some major software and hardware changes.
