For the chronic gamer check out the official extended batterycase.
The battery is built into the lid that covers the screen.
But it connects to the phone's internal battery via the 3 pogo pins in the back of the phone. So the Usb port stays free. The case charges when you are charging the phone so you don't have to charge it independently. No external extended battery on the market is as slim as this. it looks as thick as a regular flip case

Both phones you are looking at would have no problem with games but below are my personal reasons i think you should go with the MAX as a gamer.
1. Noticeably Bigger screen to enjoy the graphics and controls.
2. Clearer and louder sound to hear the action without headphones.
3.the SENSE UI is not a CPU and RAM hug like touchwiz so more should be free for your games.
4. Bigger battery, plus the UI and display technology is not a battery vampire like touchwiz and super AMOLED. So you should have more play time.
my reasons are based on logic and the use of the SIII and HTC ONE MAX. I have never used the note 3 but the complaints about touchwiz seem to be the same no matter what Samsung phone you use. So if others feel differently about my opinion, feel free to say why.

AnonD-266047, 22 May 2014The phone lags or noI could only do a comparison with the SIII, which I used for 2 years before. The response time of this phone (ONE MAX) makes the SIII feel like a snail.
I won't say zero lag because I think that's impossible for any phone but I'll describe it as 0.01 lag. LOL.

But right now kitkat is still coming with sense 5.5 and the benefits not worth the EXT SD restrictions. So no rush to upgrade right now.
Unless you need cloud printing, and have a Bluetooth device that is not working with your phone on Android 4.3.
There is no change to the interface or added apps.

SENSE 6 has been promised by HTC but that is not till June, so you will have to wait and see if it is delivered on time or not.

I really hope not. With a 5.5 inch screen, it's not very "MAX"

hi friend i bought this phone a week ago(used for 3 month not brand new) battery life is amazing last easy for 3 days in normal usage
but i have a question the charger that i have is
INPUT : 200mah
OUTPUT : 5v-1A is that the original one that come with this device ??
because it take from 5% to 100% 3 hours to recharge
