I actually don't use mine as a phone, either, I got mine as a pre-paid phone and never activated it. I really only wanted to use it on WiFi and as a toy.
I mainly use it for the GPS, camera (of all things), media player, alarm clock, and some games. But lots of things try to stay running in the background if you don't squash them.
Like any internet music app, any IM app, and any Google stuff - but you can control that with some power management apps and Airplane Mode.
It's not a super-machine, but mine is stable, dependable, and used daily - for years. And strangely, the camera beats all my other devices (3 other Android devices - two newer tablets, and one "phone" - also never activated).
My only complaints are that I can't see the screen very well now-a-days, and 512MB of RAM doesn't go very far. Still, for what I use it for, it's the rock.

Had it for 3 years. Battery life sucks big time. I seldom use it for calls; don't have data plan. I just use it for it's phone number (paired with tablet). The battery lasts 5 hours--maybe.
Useless phone IMO.

Idk why you guys are hating so much on this phone it's really good for how much is cost at the time
nice body
ok cpu for the time
cam is ok
sound pretty nice
battery not the greatest
But it did get hung up alot and even more so that it's so old
after almost 4 years i am now moving onto HTC M8

When the phone does slow down every so often. DO THIS.....Go to settings -- apps. -- running -- and one by one tap everything in the list except 'settings' and 'HTC sense input'....(if you have "whatsapp" or similar don't touch that). And then push "stop" . Slowly the list will shrink and the phone will speed up quite considerably. Some Google play services will reappear in the list, these cannot be stopped, so ignore them. It's a great phone but a small RAM and some apps always stay open in the background on every phone, which sucks.

I have this phone more then three years and it is not best experience to me, after 6 months off use mi signals go off and i send it to service under warranty, ofc i tried system reset before that and every other option suggested on forums but id didn't help. After receiving device from the service they said it was "fixed" and that i have to install only apps from android market (gogle play) and be careful what to install. I have to say that i didn't install apps out off android market actually i installed maybe 3 app overall and any game. After two weeks i noticed that my phone wont connect at 3g network. Then i make reset to factory settings and after that the old problem was back, most of the time did not have signal. Then send it again to service and they bring it back to me with explanation that they changed main board and the phone have new IMEI number (they said it is actually "new phone"). After that it have no signal problem but it was very laggy and slow, my contacts and messages sometimes opens 5 MINUTES after factory reset, missed call displays after 20 minutes or wont display at all, then i decided to put custom ROM and custom kernel, it was great first two weeks (except camera quality is very bad with 3 party camera apps) then it starts with problems, unable to unlock (S2W function, nor with hardware key) , battery drain problem, i have minimum extra apps (android market, whatsapp,) then i decided to go back to stock kernel and stock ROM, after that i lost my signal again, this time don't have warranty any more, so i find on forum that when you change mobile network setting to "just GSM" not "GSM/WCDMA autom" it fix signal problem and it worked for me except now i don't have 3g and H mobile network but at last mi phone work as phone (mesages, calls). Also facebook app killing my phone so i don't use it, i have gmail app and whatsapp, hangout app, i reduced sync apps also and decide to manual upgrade apps (gogle play). Also my battery life increase by 30% (probably because WCDMA was off). Hopes someone helps my experience, sorry about my bad English. Greetings from Croatia

well, I think I like this phone.. its cute.. the beats audio thing is very nice.. Yh and sound hound too... however, it becomes hot rapidly and it slows OCCASIONALLY...
well, its a nice phone to use..

Okay, - So, I have been reading through a lot of the comments on here about how this HTC One V phone is the phone to get. - Well, maybe just maybe there is a chance that all you HTC lovers out there can help me possible resolve an on going issue with the HTC One V phone. - I have been using my phone (HTC One V) for about almost 6 months now and I've had nothing but problems with it. - I've had the phone randomly crash on me just from simply sending a text, I've been having trouble getting the phone to read a SD Card with just music on it and when it does read it, it says error Blank SD Card. :/ I've went out and bought many new SD Cards and tried to format it to the phone and Nope its says "Error, Blank SD Card." But I have learned to get over that little issue and now all of a sudden my phone decides to literally go BAZERK. I try to answer a text and I get typing few words in and suddenly it puts in tons and tons of periods, comas, brackets etc. and then just all of sudden the text message deletes itself and then repeat. Any suggestions on what to possible do? Maybe Factory Reset?

Gabby, 03 Jul 2015i tried to encrypt mine and now i can't access it. language... moretry to factory reset by vol down button and power button. try to install stock rom, by unlocking the bootloader.

Annoyingly verrry sloooow . Hangs most of the time. It takes eternity to perform simple tasks like sending a message,accessing your phonebook(It just keeps loadiiinngg......)Battery does not last at all. And worst of all,it. makes my contacts disappear.
