Just called HTC Support here in norway. The device is coming to this cold country in about two weeks. So i called them and asked them about the VOICE calling on the Shift and support guy said "IT HAS NO VOICE CALL". So there you got it , called them 10 mins ago and thats what they said. (you can still make calls via skype).

It won't work as a GSM / 3 G phone for voice calls , the SIM slot is just for GSM/EDGE/3G/HSDPA - data transfer , if service is offered by the mobile provider
