Syrus, 18 Sep 2011I know that MS is pretty damn serious this time about Windo... moreThe restrictions are not just for minimum specs. It is also for hardware type/brand and because of that it will atomically also limit what a device spec can have.
Do you know the HD2 meets all the specks but 1. It has 5 hardware keys at the base instead of 3 and because of this it did not qualify for a WP7 upgrade that HTC first advertised it could get. Even thou the total number of hardware keys is the same, just in different locations. That was enough for it to be blanked for an upgrade.
And as you mentioned CPU I also know WP7 only supports one brand and type of CPU so the CPU speed may be faster but they are all the same brand and none will ever be Dual core. WP OS will not allow it no matter how the manufactures are.
By the way copy and paste has been added but it is still limited to some apps not fully fictional like in WM and that is 500 new fixes + features not all 500 are features, so not all 500 are totally new to WP. Some are modifications to the software on the OS in terms of what it looks like how you interact with it and what info it shows you.

Anthony, 18 Sep 2011“O”
You have to thank Microsoft and there strict hardware ... moreI know that MS is pretty damn serious this time about Windows phone. They've set some sort of "Minimum Hardware Requirement" for all mfgers who want to make WP7 phones. For eg, processor should be minimum 1ghz, ram 512 mb, camera 5 mp etc. But once again I do not agree with you on display resolution restriction. May be the minimum resolution should be 480X800, but anything higher than that is welcome. Same thing applies to cpu, ram etc. Everything is ok as long as it is higher than MS's requirement.
On personal note, Most of short comings like copy/paste etc have been taken care by WP7.5 mango update. It got added 500 features. Just wondering what is holding you back to embrace WP7.5 since you are such a big fan of MS? I got a chance to play wp7……I must say…experience was like iphone….very smooth & flawless. 7.5 should be much better.
For me, I am not fanboy of anything. I change my phone once a yr ..sometimes platform too. I'm kinda addicted to BB blinking light. I heard rumour that iphone5 will have this light. If thats the case, I'm surely get iphone. I've been iphone 3gs, hd2 and now BB user in a span of 3 yrs.

Syrus, 18 Sep 2011I agree with your point and thats wat I was trying to say:)... more“O”
You have to thank Microsoft and there strict hardware requirements to get the WP7 license for limiting hardware manufacturers, not the manufactures them self.
HTC has a deal with beats audio and now that I think about it, because of MS rules we may not get a WP7 phone with beats audio, only android phones might get it.
All WP7 phones have to be 480x800, no more or no less, does not matter what brand it is.
Its part of what MS said they were doing when they came out with the new OS. They are standardising the internal hardware so no matter what phone you buy the performance should be the same.
(Good for having a stable OS, and less crashing which was a problem with the WM OS because of hardware – 3rd party software issues. but bad for pushing the hardware to the next level.)
Sadly internal hardware changes will only happen when MS give there ok.
It’s so strict now that service providers can’t even put there branding on OS or strip features out as there could in the WM OS because they will not get the WP7 license.
Conspiracy theory..... many features that was in the WM OS that are not in the WP7 OS maybe missing not because it could not be done in time, but because the service providers requested from MS that it not to be Putin so they can make more money by offing paid alternatives to accomplish the same task.
LOL no facts on that one, just saying, hummmmm?
I tell you, they are really going down the same road of the iOS the only difference is they not making their own phone. :(
The more I talk about this the more I see I’m going to be holding on to my HD2 for quite some time again. Till i see some more changes from WP or Android.

Anthony, 17 Sep 2011I’m not disagreeing with you that the iP4 will look better.... moreI agree with your point and thats wat I was trying to say:). Pixel density largely depends on the size of device. Just do not like the fact that HTC has come up with such a low pixel density with Titan ......I mean its not bad but does not meet today's standard.

Syrus, 16 Sep 2011I do not agree with your pixel things. I don't wanna go tec... moreI’m not disagreeing with you that the iP4 will look better.
Basically what I’m saying is... this phone screen res technically will look better then a 1080P 46” TV and people don’t complain that 1080P is too low for their 46” Tv.
& if you find a HD2 with 800x460 is ok for a 4.3” screen then 800x460 is also ok for a 4.7” screen, Because the difference in pixel density per inch between the 2 is only 18 pixels less per inch. Which you would not be able to tell just by looking at it.
The pixel density on an iP4 is 330 per inch. The Titan is 199 per inch. That’s a difference of 131 pixels less in every inch of screen. Of cause you are going to notice the difference between the 2.
To make my point I was trying to make with the TV comparison a next way, think about this.....
The Samsung note has an 800x1280pixels res screen and the iP4 has a 640x960 res screen. There are many people that think the Samsung note will look better between the 2, when infract it will not.
Reason being that the pixel density per inch of the SGN is 285 because of its screen size
Where the iPhone4 pixel density per inch 330 because of its screen size
The difference of 45 pixels less, in every inch or screen.
Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

I have ... moreI do not agree with your pixel things. I don't wanna go technical here. Just put your htc hd2 & iphone4 on the table. You will see very clearly …..which got better screen. Of course denser pixel on screen is better and also visible to eyes….at least for my eyes lol. Same thing with BB phones……they got small screen but high resolutions….so they are far better & eye pleasing than those of nokia E70's models.
For you info, I like HTC but when comes to camera & display quality, they are way behind Samsung. Super Amoled Plus is one hel of display technology which Samsung has monopoly at this moment. They are better in Camera & CPU department as well. Samsung is huge co which makes almost everything in electronic world. So they've edge over other cos……But in software & quality-hardware(minus display) Htc shines.

Looks a cool phone.
Ideally though I'd like to see 32Gb storage, and a 2000Mah battery, a higher res screen would be ideal, but since it has a way higher resolution for its size then a desktop display already I guess it will do fine.
The storage at least should be trivial to fix since I expect it has a SD card inside only alterable by the manufacturer.
But since I'm in the market for a new phone this looks to me to be the winner since I want a big screen and fancy trying windows 7, unless something better comes out between now and Oct/Nov ish.

To people that think this phone is to big to hold.
I have compared it to the HTC HD2 which I have.
The Titan is only 3.7mm wider than the HD2
And is 1.1mm thinner than the HD2
I can slip the HD2 in and out of my jeans front pocket wile I am sitting. And because it is so thin you don’t even feel it when it is there. Making it 3.7mm wider and 1.1mm thinner will not make the titan unmanageable.
As for screen pixel count they are both 480x800 making the difference in pixel density per inch of screen only 18pixels less in every inch. Is there anyone out there that could look with the naked eye and say “yes I can see that this inch of screen has 18 pixels less than that screen”
Common guys and gals stop nit picking at the trivial things.
What I’m concerned about is how long it is going to take the WP OS to be a “jack of all trades” like the WM OS was.
“Eye candy and easy of use” is a good thing, but I should not have to sacrifice “features and functionality” to get it.
And at the rate the iOS and Android OS are improving the WP OS should not be taking there cool time to bring out notable improvements.
Smart phones aren’t about just phone call. they are about not having to walk with a
Net-book, radio, digital camera, Nav unit, Mp3 player, appointment book, PDA, portable DVD player, PSP, external hard drive and…. And cell phone too. (ONE DEVICE TO DO IT ALL)
So when you restrict functionality that I can get in any of those other devices which will force me to carry a next device as well, then I say the OS or the hardware is not very smart (depending on how much is missing). And in this case I have to blame the OS, not the Hardware.

Atijny, 11 Sep 2011Pls more about Mango. Does it accept bluetooth file transper? WP7 in my opinion is still Microsoft version of the iOS in its early days.
So forget about getting files on your phone that do not pass through the Zune software or email.
(mango) didn't fix that deep in the OS.
And if they plan on following iOS in every way, the WP OS may not see its true potential for many people till about WP10

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2011yeah, his right, lets post something informative and produc... moreTrue and who cares if itn't not amoled, dual core, 1 gig of ram, bla bla. It's still an awesome phone with cool OS that work perfectly smooth and responsive on it. I don't care about it's hardware, if it runs great on Titan, that's all I care about.
