This is a great phone guys. I don't know what all the complaint is about. Its a cool toy with great specs. Excellent connectivity. I've tested the wifi, bluetooth and all the other connectivity and it works really well and painlessly. I've even installed garmin XT and the gps is great. Surprisingly accurate and works great on this phone.

Also have you upgraded your ROM and what version did you use. Any links to these? I am a newbie to all this so i'm just finding my way and appreciate your recommendation.

Howard, 10 Sep 2008Hi Jame. Where did u get your SPD mobile, SPD apps and Diam... moreHey
1) just click download (not click purchase) "SPB mobile shell" and install it first, it's a rar file, just copy the SPB mobile rar file from your pc to the default folder of "my windows phone" on your phone, remove usb, then access the rar file in the phone through the phones "file browser", when you find, just click and it will install itself.
After installing, go into the SPB menu and choose the "black" colour theme.
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/?en
2) Then there is a cool slide phone lock feature like in the iphone (same installation process like above)
http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/08/31/s2u2-v121-iphone-like-slide-to-lock-for-windows-mobile.html
3) Then there is the HTC Diamond Menu slide theme, go to the middle of the thread in the link i am providing, and download "Htc Diamond MS2.1.zip" , you need to be forum registered at the thread to be able to download, no problem, takes just 1 min, it's free, register to thread, do it.
After downloading zip file, unzip it on your pc, the go into the unzipped folder called files, masscopy all the files in that folder and paste it in the phones "SPB mobile shell" folder which should exist now in the phones Programs folder if you installed it.
While pasting, click yes to all "replace" file notices.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=389106&page=69
4) hope it helps, it will actually make your HTC the easiest phone ever to navigate in, from probably being the hardest.. opens up a whole new world.
Cheers!

i freakin love this phone now!! first i was very annoyed with the main menu and submenu systems that requires a degree in advanced software programming to navigate in, i was gonna throw the phone out the window, takes like 5 min to set up a phone call in the default menu system. Then i installed something called SPD mobile, some SPD apps and Diamond system theme, now the menu navigating system is a mix of the Htc Diamond and Iphone, to navigate now is a childs play, it's so easy, beautiful flip and rotate menus, easy and instant access to all submenus, it's freaking hot!! i love it.. took some time.. but now i love it! best phone i ever had, now my N82, P1 and N95 8GB is just lying around doing nothing.

Actually h/w wise there is no variation. Basically tytn ii has a qwerty keyboard which and cruise does not have. The cruise has a FM Radio which the tytn ii does not have. If you are a user who does a lot of mails and messages then tytn ii is better......ur call....

Hi, i was wondering if anyone couls help with a issue on this phone.
I use the touchflow and finger rotate to the side til i get to a menu with only music, photos and video bars.
There is my issue, i was wondering how i can get the videos stored on the "memorycard" to show up in the "cameralbum" section? it's really annoying having to through media player and open files or go through start menu, then programmes, then file exlporer, then memory just to get acces to videos stored on the memory card, the videos stored on the phone memory shows up fine in the camera album, but not the video on the memory card, can anyone help me? please..

So, here is the HTC Cruice.
I have this one two weeks ago, and unfortunetly I do not like it very much. Why you say...I will tell you why.
In first place, the navigation thru the phone is poor. It is take time to access whatewer...contacts, call log, dial pad. Because of my work, I need to dial frequently, many times a day, and when you can´t...
Poor sound, nomather what program you are using. Can´t do incrasing ring+wibrating, hawe no alarm. Yes, it does have, but is there anyono who can here it but may Cat...
Contacts...if you need to look for someon and have to type the lethers, well you will have only 2 rows to see what apears...isn´t it poor.
Every time the phone lock it selfs, you have to push the power key, to do whatewer, nomether of the option to do not block all the keys. The good thing is that you have GPS...ooo that is great, but why there is only maps for the biggest countrys in the world, and there is no single one for where I live.
Uncustomizable. There is no themes, unless you pay for it, no screensaver unles you pay for it, no language pack unles you "program you self one".
Ringtones...ooh my. Copy and paste favorite ringtone to a directory in the windows FS, if you can find it. Is this normal for the equipment I pay more than 600EUR?!?!?!
Batery pack. Do not beliewe what they say. with 2 hurs talk time a day, I need to recharge baterry every day, allso the Standby time..2days most. I do not use wifi, BT ore WMP e.tc.
well it may be the Exchange client. I send and recieve more than 30 Emails dayli, but 1 day...come one.
My previous E51, was many time greather than this piece of trash.
If you are looking for advise ore opineon...DO NOT BY THIS PHONE OR ANY WITH WINDOWS OS

I have had a lot of windoes mobile phones but I am extremely dissapointed on the quality of the HTC brand. I had a HTC Diamond and it was outrageoslly week. It was sluggish, blocking itself all the time with no reason and baterry very week (half day use - and it was dead) After all I decided to go back one step at my friend's advise and purchase a Touch Cruise. I did a terrible mistake. Yes, the battery is better, yes I have GPS but it's not working properly, yes I have Wi Fi but the batery dies very quick when using it, but worse of all is that after I talk and try to hang up, it blocks and remains open and it charges me until I notice. When I notice I press several times the red button for hanging up but it doesn't respond. The only salvation is to soft reset the mobile. Moreover, if I want to switch of the anoying sugestions on the keyboard mode can't be done and it takes me more then 5 minutes to write a f*** SMS. I do not recommend at all HTC as a brand. I am very dissapointed on their quality. Best phones I ever had are from Imate. Their phones are very stable plus they have an excellent callcenter - service 24 hours a day (which you will never find on HTC) and an excellent site from were you can get planty of info.
