I wish HTC now will come out with an unbelievable qwerty phone to rival the nokia e71 since they now have perfected their touch through the touch diamond.

A new iPhone is more preferable to me
It is for one reason: A LARGE LCD.
They will add the needed 3G and GPS.
I know that there is IGO GPS program for iPhone

Advice to HTC: large screen (4 inches or more) is necessary for VGA resolution.

My apologies i am the one who wrote the last opinion and did not realise that some of the sim cards of dubai do not work well with the touch diamond causing it to freeze and restart all the time. changed my sim card and have been using it and it definately a fantastic device.
10 out of 10 HTC my apologies again.

HTC congratulations for launching a flop like the touch diamond. I have been wrestling with this phone and it is lousy lousy lousy. Keeps freezing and creashing every few minutes. The phone signal does not even connect and i am spending all the time resetting the damn phone.I guess you will joining the ranks of the other companies that are just going down the toilet in quality and not being able to come up with a dependable phone. This is definately the case that small is definately not good. HTC bye bye.

Have to say that I have been in the shop and went through 6 diamonds as they all crashed many many times that it makes using them a nightmare. Unfortunately the touch diamond has the same issues the tytn ii had. nice looking device shame it is an unworkable and lousy phone.

With teh 4GB memory, how many ROM are used by the OS and will the phone be slow running a few programs together and/or browse the internet at the same time?

                                      I'm over it.
It's made for ladies with little hands not guys.
Using it is a finicky and delicate affair.
Exceptional engineering but really not practical for a primary phone.
Mine lasted 1 day before back to the old Sammy G600

Just got this phone and here is my review.

On its build & looks. It's a well-built, sturdy, high quality phone. No issues with its looks whatsoever. They paid very good attention w/ the details on the design of this phone. Bravo.

On features. It has everything that you need. Making phone calls, texting, emailing, web browsing, weather, music player, FM radio, video player, picture and video camera, pocket office tools, GPS, and more features that you may never even use.

On performance. It is indeed a feature-packed phone, but performance is a different story. First of all, with all its icons summoning up its features on its beautiful VGA screen, it would've been much, much better, helpful, friendlier & convenient if they made the screen AT LEAST 3.2 inches instead of just 2.8. Considering that 95% of its functions are touchscreen operated, 2.8 just does not suffice.

On its UI interface. It's a hit and miss deal. Though MOSTLY a hit, it can get annoying when the screen does not follow the touch of your fingertip and gets stuck somewhere else. It also freezes up every now & then. It's also annoying when you try to be careful when you drag your finger accross the menu part of the screen to open up one of its functions, and you end up opening the one next to it. It's also very annoying when you swore you swiped your finger to view the next photo and the screen took it as a tap of a finger and opened a photo instead of sliding to the next one. Touchscreens will never be as precise as hardware keys, just like hardware keys will never be as fun as touchscreens, but for a touchscreen to be fun, it has to be darn responsive like the iphone (sorry to drag the iphone into this. I personally prefer this phone over the iphone, but we have to admit, the iphone does have the most responsive touch UI). The Diamond is most of the time responsive as well, BUT NOT CONSISTENT. It's as if you can sense the phone doing heavy work in the background which causes the touchscreen to be less responsive at times.

On its display. There is no question about the beautiful display quality of this phone. After getting pissed off by its touch UI's inconsistencies, the beautiful & almost natural colors on its screen just gives you a delightful visual experience that kind of calms you down after it opened up the wrong application. You can zoom in pictures several times and the fine quality is still there, and you NEVER lose the details. Believe me, I am not exaggerating. ITS screen is AMAZING. Even in the absence of a flash, it takes very decent pictures. Web browsing is also a delightful experience because of its smart text wrapping abilities, and again, the resolution is just topnotch that you can read fine prints just fine. The web browsing experience is so very similar to web browsing on your laptop or desktop pc. Everything is right there where they should be, and the touchscreen, when your web browsing, somehow behaves the way it should be w/ no lag or hang. Except for YouTube. Sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn't. But most of the time it doesn't. But that could be a network connection issue and may not necessarily be the phone. But when it does open up, it's the best YouTube experience over the phone.

This is already getting kind of lengthy, so to sum it up, the Diamond is still not a perfect phone. Not even close. It has annoying behaviors but yet it delights you right away with its pleasant & impressive qualities. It's a desirable phone that you wish would behave accordingly all the time. Now is it a worthy phone for its price? For me it is. Even with its flaws, it is one impressive & pleasing performer.
