No, there is no memory card slot but they say that the internal 4GB flash is actually a card alternative to the built-in system storage. So I guess with an operation you could switch flash drives(???) :)

MSA, 03 Jun 2008Yes ROM stand for Read Only Memory which means if you have ... moreSo dead wrong mate. ROM is Read Only Memory which is used by the OS and can't be used by the user. RAM is Read Acces Memory which is 192MB, So you can open any file up to that size. But any phone using compressing software, so you can still open anything bigger than 192 MB.

verry nice looking fone, great specs... but why no 3.5mm headphone jack? why no flash? why no card slot? weird...

3.5mm jack should be standard on every phone comming out and claiming to be a smartphone... as should be the flash, if it has a camera... they can make it 10mp, if it doesn't have flash, it's of no real use since most of the pictures are taken during evening/night, on partys or whatever :-)

combining USB and headphone socket doesn't seem to be reasonable to me... except there is a switch i can also plug in my 3.5mm headphones, then i could live with it...

and where's the speaker(s)? does it use the same speaker for calls and music? if so, either the call (voice) or the music is probably ruther bad, because call and music speakers don't have the same specs... that's what i love so mutch about my N82, two speakers just for music, giving it a great sound quality...

the design of the Touch Diamond however is absolutely unbeatable, there's no other cell that cute out there right now... so i guess i've got to give it a hans-on and then i probably can't resist it :-)

                greetings from Switzerland

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2008I have wanted this line of phones starting with the origina... morei agree with your comments about the touch diamond but i think one of the biggest flaws is going to be legibility when using outside in direct sunlight.
also if you look at the official release video everything is as smooth as a peachy bottom. but then take a look at the many videos on youtube of actual hands on experience and the o/s is slow sluggish and unresponsive.
im sitting on the fence for now after a bad experience with an xd orbit 2. i dearly hope the operating system is as good as its supposed to be and that i can see the screen when im outside. if so ill buy one

Touch Diamond + flash + 1350 mAh battery + card slot =...... Touch Pro.

                          Anything more perfect?

                          Already changed my mind.

I have wanted this line of phones starting with the original touch when it first came out. Was going to get the Cruise, however when I went to gt it I saw the diamond. I finally just ordered it today and cannot wait to get it I am so excited. From everything I have researched and all it is definitly better than then the iphone, though they are comming out with a new 3G model I am interested in seeing, which should be new competition for the Diamond. Yes I agree with you all this is supposed to be the top of the line smartphone they claim to have thought of complete details, convienence, luxary and so forth, yet they seem to have gone on vacation when it comes to some details. The Cruise (which I was originally looking to buy) has a micro sd slot, why doesn't the Diamond which is supposedly an upgraded or more top of the line phone? It should, as I am sure most of you would agree with me on. Also, I agree it too should have the larger screen size. I am sure there are probabally other small features that have been overlooked that this phone would do better having. However, over all I am sure it is a relly great phone, probabally one of the top/best out, even considering its shortcomings. Below I am enclosing 2 of my favorite links about the Diamond, both have really good information. The first is a video clip with a head hanco at HTC talking about the phone and demonstrating some of its features. The second is an audio clip with a computer sounding voice comparing it to the iphone that is out now (and it also mentions the new 3G model due out. Well, I hope my small pice of insite helps. Enjoy!

HTC's choice of a 900mAh battery can only be justified by the the use of WinMo 6.1 platform which was developed to be more power-efficient. All the people complaining about the battery life I believe have not experience WinMo 6.1 first hand.
FYI: The Diamond does last longer than "one" day. =)
