to roy. yes, the iphone still has a faster UI than this phone, but i don't think that this phone's UI is slow either, just not as fast as the iphone. i think this phone has more to offer than the iphone. it's a smartphone after all, while the iphone is not. this phone will gain popularity, but i hope not as much as the iphone because i want to get this phone and I don't want this phone to be very common like the iphone =)

you know no company came even close beating Iphone just for one reason, and one reason only. The speed.
If you watch the hands-on videos of HTC diamond on youtube(or any other HTC model) the graphics look great as long as they stay steady! once you start "sliding your fingers" over the screen it freezes up! constantly!

Actually, IO think that this phone is gonna be a HUGE competition for the iPhone !
They copied the accelerometer, touch flo, etc.
BUT they have a 3.2 MP Camera which is better than the iPhone.
iPhone is gonna have to step it up and bring something AMAZING on the market.

obviously the prism style has been taken from nokia htc diamond but it still has an awsome shape both practical and aesthetic..design:10 its specifications are great with the only problem,as i believe, being the slightly poor internal memory..features:9 the performance as concidering the different promotion videos is excellent.great processor and rom..performance:10 generally this mobile is one of the top 5 of this year..propably the only competitors are nokia n96 and of course xperia

I just viewed several videos of this phone in youtube, and this phone is really, really cool & quite promising. It does have an accelerometer, so it automatically switches the screen to landscape mode just by positioning the phone to landscape. Its touch UI is comparable to that of the iphone, but the animation when you browse through applications are visually much better and entertaining than the iphone's, which makes this phone more fun to use. Although I still believe that the iphone's UI is still faster than this phone, but not by much. Though the display only supports 64K colors, its topnotch resolution & VGA screen is enough to compensate and even beat those phones with 16M colors w/ QVGA displays. That means watching videos, viewing pictures, and browsing the web would be a much more wonderful experience with this phone. It is hard to avoid comparing this phone with the iphone because their touch UI is so much similar. This phone though is a smartphone, iphone is not. Full touchscreen phones are just more convenient to use when they have displays 3.0 up, especially when you will be mainly using you're fingers to navigate. 2.8 display does not quite suffice, but not that bad either. Personally, even with its disappointing display size, I'd still prefer this phone over the iphone, for it does offer so much more than just a fun touch UI. It's tough competitor would be the N95 8gb. Although the N95 does'nt have a touch UI. Their features are comparable. The Touch Diamond would beat the N95 with its design & ease of use, but would be significantly behind the N95's camera features. The Diamond's 3.15mp camera is enough, but only if they would add a xenon flash and 30fps video recording, would it be able to compete w/ the N95 on the camera capabilities. Either way, both the N95 & the Diamond are very good choices. The Diamond has the looks with decent features, while the N95 has the features w/ decent looks. I wonder which phonemaker can mix those two factors together well enough?

This phone can definitely back up my N82. I was thinking about a 3G iPhone or Xperia X1, but this one might be cheaper and I like the form factor. My only complaint is the smaller screen size and lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. 4GB w/o expandable memory isn't a big deal since I have a N82. If it goes to an American carrier, I am hoping AT&T since it has 850 and I can get it at a subsidized price. my key decision between the Diamond vs X1 is the price. But if Apple brings on 32GB for $499, I might get that instead even it seems like I see an iPhone user everyday now.

This actually looks really good. It has everything that I want in a phone. Its also thanks to its 4gb memory that won't make the phone's price skyrocket because I think anything over that isn't really needed at all. Overall nice phone!
Although I'm still iffy about Windows Mobile...

why do phone makers always omit something that shouldn't have been omitted, and would've made their phone so complete? Like, why not include a xenon flash on this beauty? Why not make its camera 5 megapixels instead of just 3.5? Why not make the screen 3.2 inches rather than 2.8? A 3.2 inch display would make it much more convenient to type on the touchscreen qwerty. This phone would've been the most complete phone, but as usual, they omitted features that would've made it complete. Bummer.

Is nobody bothered about the lack of camera flash? Is this not a huge failing? Is the camera efficient enough to work in low light conditions or what?
