Ryan, 11 Feb 2009Hey Vicky....thanks for the input...i'll try what you sugge... moreactaually i downloaded gps software mapking r10 from outside and its really great but u can download tomtom 7 software....as diamond doesnot hv gps software but it has gps antena so if u download the software it will activate yor gps........but just download that gps status which is there in your phone to get proper data from satellite...through connecting wifi....and go to this link to download gps software...http://mahmood1.com/htc_touch_diamond.aspx

I got the diamond 2 months ago, it took me some getting used to, but i really enjoy the phone. Here's some observations of mine:
Pro's
-Excellent organizer functions
-Easy to navigate/customize
-Great sound quality (on calls)
-EASY texting (you can change keyboard styles)
-Vibrations are strong enough to notice through my jeans (never found a phone with strong vibrations before)
Con's
-I get 2 days battery life out of mine, with moderate use
-The interface is laggy, it takes a second or two for anything to load (doesn't bother me that much though)
-The icons are confusing to learn, everything is labelled with pictures, not words
I've had a few cell phones, but this is my first jump to a smartphone and i'm very pleased. Web browsing is a charm, just make sure to use the Opera browser, not internet explorer!

iamani, 12 Feb 2009pls let me know honestly, is it a good phone to use? if com... moreI bought 2 Touch 3700(Diamond), 1 Touch 3702(Victory) for my wife.. we live in USA Denver. use T-Mobile. We used these phone for about 4 months, it works well. Of course, some features need to modify it yourself. There are a lot of developers, people make this Diamond almost perfect. Especially XDA, you can find almost of useful features for your Diamond device. I enjoyed this phone very well.

I have had mine for about six months during which time it has broken down twice, taking a month to repair. Support is shocking. The set itself is poorly designed. Adults are unable to read the text with the font at its largest setting. The touch screen is insensitive. It only responds to the stylus not finger touch. Simple functions like making a call takes several (virtual) button presses. Address book management is rediculous. Connectivity is poor. Battery life is non existant. I can go on, but you will not want to read that much and I will run out of space here. I am trying to get rid of mine so that can buy a cheaper, more reliable phone with more features and better functionality, like a Nokia E71. let me know if you want to swap, but I could not recommend with a clear concience that you do so.

hey people if u are having hanging problem and all just update yor phone to version 1.93 its really worth it,as it removes the problems and make phn really fast,and as per the battery is concerned just !(1) switch off the beam
(2) go to setting,advanced network,disable hsdpa/hsupa as it is big battery sucker..
(3) go to phn setting,go to band,choose yor network type to gsm.....
(4) download g light software for yor phn it will control screen light according to the light sensors its really good.....and trust me yor battery will stay longer and much better than before.....atleast 1 and half day with good usage....like it used to get over in just 1 day...with theses recommendation yor standby of phn will also improve.....trsut me tey these things....it will help u a lot.....me also a user of this phn really found it better through these setting....and just post yor reply if u find it good...thanku

philip, 03 Feb 2009my htc diamond's battery ends every 5-6 hours every day??... moreits not a problem,yor phone is on 3g mode which drains yor battery,switch it gsm mode nd turn the hspu function disable....yor problem will get resolved trust me

Can someone help me please. I have a Diamond but can hardly hear when someone calls me or if i make a call. i have turned the volume up on the side button but still struggle to hear. is there somewhere else i can turn up the volume? Or are the phones generally that soft?

well, if you have battery problem--buy a new extended battery at ebay...cost about $13 only
