This is by far the best phone I have ever had but in a moment of anger because of 2 huge problems I have just thrown it at the office wall because 1) it freezes so many time and 2) even with settings set to answer when you slide the keypad to open most calls are disconected. Time to buy something different.

Great phone. Touchscreen and Windows Mobile new to me and wow its great so far. Just do note, as a camera phone it is undeniably weak. But as a portable media player, strong candidate. As an organizer, Windows Mobile period. As a phone, the keypad makes messaging and dialing much easier. Wndows Mobile really shines the moment you load up the applications. So much more powerful compared to those for smartphones (Windows Mobile is not smartphones per se. They are PDA phones which are more akin to intelligent phones rather than just smart).

How about the short battery life of this phone? Mine goes flat too quickly and need to be recharged every night. Is it normal?

It's good phone. Internet is fast and slim. I can use Chinese and Japanese input and browsing. The only negative part is the ear pierce. Attached ear pierce is not good. I bought bluetooth.

Anonymous, 26 Jun 2008Agree. The sliding keypad does make it easier for beginners... moreThanks for the feedback - I did consider the wifi / GPS issue, but at the end of the day I have the net at home and work, so its not a drama. the GPS would be nice but again I can live without it. I am just concerned that the phone reacts a little slow. I just looked at the Omnia and Diamond today and they respond quicker (messaging, programes). Is there any way for this to be overcome or is it just the way the phone is???

I have had this phone for a few months now and I am still finding new features and ways that it can enhance my life (thanks to the joy of windows and millions of apps)
I have found a Review of the HTC Touch Dual’s camera and also a compiled a list of handy and mostly free applications here: http://basicdog.co.uk

Chris, 24 Jun 2008I think the phone is a good entry for someone new to Window... moreAgree. The sliding keypad does make it easier for beginners to feel "at home". Also the keypad makes this a more accessible phone than non keypad WM devices. So someone looking for say the organizing capabilities of Windows Mobile while retaining a robust phone setup, the Touch Dual is higly recommended. Just do bear in mind for the price you're paying, you don't get things like GPS and Wi-Fi which seems the norm these days.

Sam7606, 21 Jun 2008Wat da hell it's with HTC mobiles and their 65k colour disp... moreGet yourself a real camera 8..10Mpix and 3..4x zoom if you want real pictures! Or, even better, a DSLR with 2 zoom lenses. Canon, Nikon, Olympus... For a phone and PDA 2Mpix camera is just fine. Or would you like a multimedia phone like Nokia N90? But Nokia does not have Windows OS, and the Symbian sucks in comparison with Windows Mobile.

Less then a week old the phone's at the Service Centre. 3G signal strengh was good showing almost full bars but can't make or receive calls, can't send or receive SMS and can't establish data connections. Checked with the service provider, they confirm my line is working and their 3G network is good. Anyone experience something like this?

I think the phone is a good entry for someone new to Windows mobile and PDA's in general. I am happy with the phone. A little bit of lag but nothing to cry about. I do want to know if everyone else experience's the delayed time adjustment when you turn the phone back on (off dormant). The phone will show the old time (last time it was on) then quickly show the current time - IS THIS NORMAL?

Sam7606, 21 Jun 2008Wat da hell it's with HTC mobiles and their 65k colour disp... more1) 65k colour is more a Windows Mobile restriction not HTC. Look around, there's not a single WM6.0 device that spots a 65k colour in their OS. The screen might display 262k but WM doesn't.
2) WM devices aren't exactly multimedia centric devices. They are PDA phones not exactly smartphones. I.e. they are a PDA with phone functionalities as opposed to phones with "smart" functions. That said, high end HTC devices do pack 3.0+ MP lenses.
