Pro, 27 Nov 2008For people who order from Europe, there may be a problem to... moreso did you bought the HTC TOuch PRO? i have no issue if i will buy there in UK because im not going to use the arabic ROM. by default, is it in english ROM?
Anyone here knows about www.handtec.co.uk? how's their service?

I had this device a week ago. It is an impressive device: powerful processor and enough memory, good performance in connecting to Internet through 3G HSDPA or WiFi, very elegant design and color.
I'm not satisified in terms of the following points:
- TouchFLO 3D is not sensitive enough comparing to IPHONE for example.
- The absence of a physical Camera shutter key affect the stability when taking pictures.
- The reset key is under the back cover !! as well as the Micro SD Card.
- The ON/OFF key is not enough sensitive, when used, you need to press it with precision.
- Volume key is too large and you can touch it be error once you turned the device to play games or to take pictures.
In my openion Windows mobile 6.1 has'nt yet a good graphical interface, once you leave the first manu page, in all submenus, you find the old archaic interface which is not adaptable for Touch FLO use. Fortunatly HTC deliver a Stylet to be used in most of these applications.

I had the phone for two weeks now, it is definitely better than my old tytn ii although i have to reset the hd twice due to the screen freeze on me. The sound produced on the hd is very good both the ringtone and speakerph which is very useful. The other thing that surprise me is the battery life. Compare to tytn ii which only 30% left by the end of the day but hd with bigger screen, i still have 50% or less, impressive.

I have one question to all of you especially from UK. Did you tried to order from www.handtec.co.uk? Why is it nobody purchase on that site knowing they are one of the lowest price in HTC Touch HD.

Yes it is available in the UK - in Orange shops (although my local shop has sealed units only so you can't try it out before buying !). They also insist you can't change it for another phone if you don't get along with it. So I am waiting for a functional display model to arrive.

but hd nad pro is different issue. they offer different taste and different satisfaction so there is no reason to compare them.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970the interface and how Windows mobile works is entirely different frim iphone and omnia. iphone and omnia are just a cellphone with their added respective marketing features strategies. if you are not familiar of WM or first time user you have 2 option :
1. do not buy a pocket pc. you will just add up to lots of people who keeps on complaining and has no ideas.
2. study and learn your pocket pc and you will understand the advantage of this mobile.

The phone is my first touch screen. Its actually very good and its better the Xperia (i Have both and plus HTC make the xperia), my fat thumbs dnt work with its qwerty keyboard.
The HTC HD has a very crisp screen and internet surfing is a joy.

I have used this phone now for 1 day and the only prob i am facing is loggin onto hotmail. The cookie for windows is not being saved for some reason! I have enabled cookies from the tools menu!! Any idea why this is?

People who live in KSA...
I purchased it from Jarir Book Store in Al-Khobar...It is with 5 year warrenty of "Cellucom". Yes, 3600/=SR is expensive but it is like this in middle east region.
I don't know about Jarir book Store in Jeddah...Call them to know about the availability of this device. you can get the phone number from their website.
