I agree, the iphone is dead, extremely dead. I rather by a cheap nokia and then by an ipod touch.Take from it from me who has owned one it is not worth the money.I sold mind to by a nokia n95, and now im selling that to get the htc touch hd.

Just another unoriginal phone. Like always, the OS on this phone will lag and jolt. Who cares about HD screens. Another gimmick... give us something original.

But going back into WM history, WM was never meant to be used with fingers it was and still is a PDA OS that requires a stylus. When WM goes 7.0 they need to make it as finger friendly as the iPhone.... and no I'm no Apple fanboy I just think Apple did a good job putting together a easy to use UI, but the iPhone as a phone is a joke.

iphone has no phone to compare it cost 600€ or more , has no video call , no mms , no gps (only google earth), bluetooth is useless .
Can u see other phone with this price so use less like this ?

Why on earth people saying the "iPhone" killer? iPhone is too low sub-standard to even compare with HTC Touch HD.
iPhone will never capable of what WM devices can do. WM just need to tune to be a bit more finger friendly.
HTC Touch HD is as big as iPhone so that it will be more finger friendly. HTC touch flo is awesome but just to fool people. I never like it. It make the phone so slow.
I just need HTC Touch HD and a new soft keyboard rather than WM's buildin soft keyboard. Slide keyboard is not needed as it will make the phone bulkly.
I have never seen any iPhone OS as complete as Windows Mobile.

The phone looks awesome. I have used most of the HTC range over the past years and they just get better and better. Although, i am using the 3G iPhone at the moment and i cant get away from the fact that the GUI is so so much better. i realise that the feature/customisation on the iPhone are limited but for simple exchange email intergration, music, pictures and everything else i do believe its still the one to beat...

anyway, nokia will probably never bring out a proper touch Screen phone, needless to say a (HD) screen.
nokia is famous for its 16m 320x240 QVGA screens (that is 76k pixels/color per "screen shot" of the available 16m colors).

What? Battery life is just 10 minutes?
Thought so, after all, HTC is known to have 1/2 day recharges with slower processors and laggy UI.
No, iPhone is no better, but for sure HTC Touch HD is Far Far better than iPhone.
I will still stick with Nokia N82, will wait equivalent of N82 with bigger (HD) Touch Screen and bigger battery atleast 2Ah LiIon.

Wooh i see you guys over-reacting, i'll give you a hint, HTC to me is better than iPhone of course, Sony Xperia will do some serious damage to this market, but wait for nVidia TEGRA chip to come out !!!! i mean phones using this chip will come out early 2009 ! and it has a 800mhz processor, a discrete graphics chip and capable of Playing 1080p high definition videos and can handle 12 mega-pixel cameras !

If you ask me, i think the HD is just a marketing hype to persuade people.
But if you think about it, this phone's pixel count is far higher than many smartphones out there. This has the same resolution as the HTC Shift, which is capable of running Windows Vista.
So in a way, the screen is comparitively "High Definition" to other screens (such as the overrated iPhone)
This phone looks like its going to slaughter the iPhone, especially with the superiority of Windows Mobile organisation and business functionality (despite being an unreliable OS). Hopefully there is dedticated RAM for graphics processing and will not have disappointing performance as the Touch Diamond had shown.

Why is it called Touch HD?
Certainly, it does not mean the screen is High Definition (HD)?
This phone screen is 800x480 which means it is a WVGA screen with a ratio of 5:3
Real High Definition (HD) is 1920x1080 with a ratio of 16:9
Can someone please explain why it is called Touch HD?

This phone definitely has the most beautiful display, and that's pretty much it. I had the Diamond, and the colors and the crispness of its display is wonderful. Too bad it has a sluggish and erratic UI. Can't stand that.
