Jubba, 19 Aug 2009I'm thinking of buying the HTC TP2 separately as my mobile ... moreHello , it didnt fail any tests, they say that , What they really mean is they wont sell well for them...people dont like window phones complicated phones (general public)for me htc touch pr 2 is the best phone ive had...its very nice , so dont let you provider say anything else, TRUST ME IT WILL BE THE BEST PHONE YOU EVER OWNED ...until the touch pro 3 that is ///.....

by default, HTC TP2 cannot record the voice o... moredear Rico, re: call recordings on TP2. did dowload & installed the cab file ACR onto mobile frm xda-developers.all ok. Then asked to download .NET Framework35.....(need this for ACR to work) did download but unable to install on TP2, unknown application. Any assistance on how to to get the .NET file installed. As need ACR to work, important for me. thks & rgds Monesh

Interestingly I've had the very same annoying (and expensive) problem with my old Blackberry 7290. Given that I'd be buying the phone from a retailer (and not getting it from T-Mobile), it would be difficult for me to switch the phone once purchased. I may still buy it though assuming it was great in other respects?

Switching from Blackberry I am (was)loving this TP2 phone except for one annoying problem. Several times over the past weeks the phone had dialed the last number I called without me knowing. I have turned on password protection and enabled it to activate in 1 minute and even though lately I have taken great care not to carry the phone in my pocket until after the keypad is locked I still have the occasional problem with the phone dialing last no. I travel internationally and twice last night it woke up my wife in the middle of the night (several minutes after I had locked the keypad) and this is really starting to annoy me - enough that even though I really like the phone I am considering alternatives......

I'm thinking of buying the HTC TP2 separately as my mobile provider T-Mobile does not stock it in the UK as it "didn't pass their testing."
1. Any ideas as to what tests it may have failed at T-Mobile?
2. I called HTC customer support to determine how their warranty works (in the event I need to return the unit) and was concerned to hear that they have a "no replacement" policy and that their engineers would try to fix the phone, a process that can take 5-10 working days. Is it me, or is this hugely concerning?

I have had the TP2 for more than a month its an amazing device i believe no other phone will be able to the market segment his well, i mean the whole package is fantastic. I have a question is there anyway to enable device lock without disabling touch flo, i tried enabling both but it doesn't work, and can someone please tell me what is the latest ROM version and what bugs it fixes.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970In my opinion the TP2 is much better. I recently reviewed the i8910 and I own a TP2. But it really comes down to choice. They have different OSs, the Samsung using Symbian and the HTC using WinMo. If you dont want a full qwerty keyboard I would wait a short while for the Omnia 2 or try the HTC Touch HD.

TP2 only comes with Microsoft activesyc that can sync your contacts, calendar, Files, Notes etc but not SMS.
There are 3rd party SMS than can manage your SMS thru your PC like jeyo mobile extender or Jeyo Mobile companion. Im currently using Jeyo Mobile extender.

Just got the TP2 last week. It's got a really good interface and HTC have really did a good job using the Windows platform. Once you get use to the interface (like any phone) the experience becomes quite magical.
There are unfortunately some moments where it slows down a bit.... but not really a big issue.
It's heavy and pretty big, but you would have known this before getting it - that added QWERTY keyboard is what you most likely bought the phone for and its the best feature on this phone.
.... now to see if its durable and lasting (and update in due course)

as u told u hav both the handset u would be ... moreHi Sonia. It is certainly better with thr Pro2 as the on screen keypad on the HD is not brilliant. But I did use the HD for about six months and was really happy with it. I still use it when I travel for watching movies as the screen is a little bigger and it has a 3.5mm headset jack.
If you can get either I would go for the Pro2 or wait a little longer and try out the Omnia Pro. It looks nice but I think the keypad on Pro2 looks better.

plz tell me that in touch hd , not having a keyboard , does it put you in any discomfort while operating the phone
or
would you say that operating touch hd is as easy as TP2
for example , typing email , playing games , surfing internet, etc etc

I changed from the HD to the TP2 for this reason but that was my choice.
