I have many problems ... moreThe first models did have a calibration problem which was solved under guarantee.
Could that be the case?
No problems whatsoever, here.
Try to ask for an honest opinion in a repair's centre.
Maybe, they'll find an easy solution.
Good Luck!

How come this phone isn't on the top chart?
It's STILL got great reviews and scores.
It deserves to be considered a CLASSIC!
Better than most of newer models with lower specs.
Gotta love this phone!

Riccardinho, 22 Oct 2009Ahhh I did love this phone. Upgraded to an e71 purely to ge... moreI couldn't agree more.
I still have a Bluetooth GPS receiver which 'links' to the TYTN with a much smaller lag than most current "in-phone" receivers.
The front buttons are VERY useful and the "joystick/scroll" buttons in the middle are really, useful, for instance, to play games on my TYTN.
Actually, I really believe this IS a great phone, even by today's standards and even if compared to HTC's more recent models which still haven't got a 3.5" audio jack and have lost the front keys, the IR connection and the flash light which is actually useful, not only on photos, but also as an actual 'flash light'.
I only wish companies such as HTC could feel more commited to their many customers and customer-satisfaction and less to their (certainly, fewer) stock holders.
Profit should never be the ultimate and only goal to be achieved at all cost! In fact, there is much more to a really successful company.
Otherwise, their fame (and their profit) will not last long... and another 'profit-hungry' company will take their place... for some fleeting time...

Ahhh I did love this phone. Upgraded to an e71 purely to get better battery life. Which it delivered. But as a piece of kit, I loved the TyTN. If a new phone came out a bit slimmer, with better battery life and GPS, I'd never upgrade again.
Why did phone manufacturers stop making phones with so many buttons and a scroll wheel? They were great...

But, more importantly DO search for your favourite theme on google.
It will be easier to seek and choose the type of theme/icons/wallpapers you like the best.

Great multipurpose/overall phone.
It will allow you to take advantage of its flah for you photos, it 's got WiFi, Bluetooth and Infra Red connections and it still has all you may need on a phone!
If you've got a TYTN, you really don't need to go out spending your money on a newer phone just because of its specifications.
Just because it's "old", that doesn't mean it's outdated or obsolete!
I'd prefer to consider it "Vintage"! :o)

I believe Microsoft wants to KILL all competitors as the most popular mobile phone platform.
But the overall "Apple solution" it is copying (hardware + service + all_hardware_accessories + all_extra_software_you_need) will always be too expensive for vast majority of consumers.
And our money is the most important and strongest VET POWER! Let's not forget it!

Other than the cosmetics, I can't see any reason to upgrade to WM6.5!

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2009I agree, even I didn't think of installing 6.5 Im already v... moreQuite so.
Actually, IE mobile and market place are mesnt to keep you spending money and financing Microsoft as Apple does with their Iphones...
It's a marketing gimmick which will try to monopolize (not sure the word exists) the mobile software market.
If Microsoft achieves its purpose we will be left with only two giant corporations (Applevs Microsoft) on which we'll depend for every bit of software we''ll ever need allowing them to contro our phones' contentes and forcing us to pay whatever they decide to make us pay!
That's why (although I own a WM based TYTN) I hope Android will be successful and many other "open-source" options based on sharing and P2P will appear.

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2009can i install windows mobile 6.5 on this?I'm not sure I would advise it.
It may make your phone slow as it is a "HEAVY" OS...
After all, with so many "cooked" ROMs around, what would be the great advantage of installing WM 6.5?
All ain all, don't forget to check for minimum requirements (RAM / ROM / Processor, etc) for WM 6.5

Worst phone ever! Endless problems:
face buttons stopped working,
display colour goes black+purple (needs reset)
stylus broke,
touch-screen cracked (not covered under warranty),
keeps hanging up (has to be reset),
refuses to make calls (has to be reset),
power port failed (couldn't recharge or connect USB),
ringer (speaker) silent (can't hear phone ringing),
loses high-speed data connection after a call (reset)
and and and...
