To jB4@(xOrangeDementedFirex). Firstly do not try and bully or intimidate me off this forum. I am free to state my misgivings on a phone. This forum is not for your private use. You are extremely rude. Learn some manners. Secondly the difference between VGA and QVGA is not infinitesimally small. VGA is four times the res and this makes alot of difference. More detail is seen: charts and tables are clearer. Eten and i-mate are not foolish for adopting VGA screens. It is the future of high end devices. Thirdly, a businessman does not work in isolation. He needs to listen to the business news. So a radio is important. Fourthly you do not understand the revolution. It is all about convergence. Business and pleasure on the SAME device. You cannot work if you don't rest. Substandard camcording just irritates. It is better to leave it out completely than to force the customer to pay for a lousy feature. Fifthly if you think processor speed is not important then you need to go and get your head tested. Continue to worship HTC but I will continue to speak straight and true.

Friend HPP,
I am using htc touch 2 months ago and i am really satisfied! it works really superb! the processor is realy enough quick for the phone! perfect design, small size, and much more beautifull from the kaiser! i was using a SE w900i and at the begining it was a little bit hard for me to get used to a touchscreen phone with windows mobile OS.

I am debating between this and the HTC Touch. Really like both but the weight and size are a big set back for me, especially since I am moving up from a standard SE W810i. 3G is a big advantage on this as the main purpose for this upg is for Mobile Emails. Anyone got any suggestions based on experience of the two? Is the extra QWERTY keyboard, 3G and Fast Processor really worth the extra size and weight? All opinions and ideas welcome.

That is some fantastic whining and moaning. If you want to go bash the phone try finding a forum that cares for people who like to over exaggerate every flaw in every phone. If your going to let a non-vga screen and a lack of a radio stop you from buying this phone then you truly are slow. And as a "businessman" a "camcorder" should be no concern of your. Please take your whining somewhere where people care. Constructive criticism is important for the advancement of technology, but bashing every minor detail of a phone isn't helpful, its just annoying to everyone who has realized how good of a phone this is, and who can overlook the infinitesimally minute flaws in the phone.

When a new phone comes to the market we all get excited and expectations are high. I meditate on the phone and the features before making a choice. My mind is still not made up. I have several misgivings on this phone. To start with this a high end phone so we expect the best. There are plenty of lower end phones for those who do not need a multiplicity of features. The screen at 2.8 inches needs to have VGA resolution. Eten X800, I-mate Ultimate and Toshiba G900 recognise this fact. HTC choose to ignore it. The processor speed is not fast enough for contemporary programs. Thirdly substandard camcording still reigns with HTC: I wonder why they include camcording and make us pay for a substandard feature(non VGA;30fps). Fourth point: no radio; do they not know that businessmen have to listen to the news: BBC World, Voice of America etc??

Dan The Man
The only reason it is a QWERTZ keyboard is that this is a german layout of the keyboard. You are not going to have to get used to anything. All keyboards are going to be qwerty that need to be qwerty and all that need to be otherwise will be so.

The htc p4550 does have a "dulled-down" version of the touchflo system. This means that you will be able to touch the screen and drag instead of using the tiny scroll bar on the right side of the screen.

The phone does have auto focus. Notice that GSMarena rarely updates their first set of specs, and please try researching other sites before you bash one of the best phones to come out in years.

Well, well, well what do we have here? A marginally improved HTC TyTN? I noticed the camera has no autofocus. No improvement in the camcording. Screen's resolution is still QVGA. Colour palette is still 65556 colours. It will be difficult for it to compete with i-mate's upcoming "Ultimate" series. Mind you if it performs reliably, and the keyboard responds well, coupled with a reasonable browser and price I could be swayed.
