i just went to the at&t store and they dont recommend getting this phone because the screen messes up very easily (due to the tilting). The screen just goes blank and you cannot fix it. The TILT they had on display was their 3rd one.

HTC are in hot water over this debacle.I and many others will never buy from HTC again, how dare they flippantly dismiss such an issue as 3d acceleration.Go HTC launch new wm6,android units, whatever you want because I sure as hell won't be giving you one more cent of my money.

if htc would support their new phones with proper drivers and not tell the whole world to stick it, this phone would be good. as it is, it is seriously handicapped by htc's intentional ommittance of drivers- stay away from htc phones

WM6 is MUCH faster tham WM5.With the aid of a custom ROM an older PPC can be pretty darn fast. The Kaiser has plenty RAM but other than that it dosen't have the supported hardware to be faster than an 2005 modded PPC

Hi. I have just recently purchased the HTC phone. I think its really good and love all the functions and features. But I do have a problem and was hoping that someone can help.
I have put a few mp3's on the handset but unfortunlty the phone wont file it. I have to go into file explorer and its just sitting in my documents, I dont have a problem with filing it myslef but when i do and then go into the file where i have put the mps it isnt there, or even when i put it on my memory card. But when I go back to file explorer it does show it is the music file were i originally put it. The funny thing is it works perfectly fine with pictures it just seems to be the mp3's
I hope this is making sense and if if anyone can help it will be much appreciated.
Thanks

I currently have the imate k-jam and am expeincing delays when using the touch screan and in sum instances no response at all. I also experience a lag between operations in contacts and in the calander. Does the tytn 2 suffer with these drawbacks and is it worth upgrading to this phone with repect to contacts and calander use?

I am considering updating from the Sony Ericsson P800 to the TyTn II. When I edit my contacts or enter a new one, I can put heaps of contact numbers and details for EACH contact and each contact also has an additional page for writing additional notes (by using a tab to another page). This is important to me. Does the TyTn II have this?

I have the O2 XDA Stellar which is the O2 XDA branded version of the HTC Kaiser and it's INCREDIBLE!! I love it! I just wish it was in black like the Kaiser is.

Hi.
Thanks again to those who answered :) I need to be sure before i get the Kaiser. It's really what I need and want. I'm still a bit concern about the flip but all in all, it's what I'm looking for. Thanks for the helpful input ^_^

I am very happy with TYTN II, not caring about some missing 3D accelerators

Well I agree, this is one of the best handheld device. But alas the lack of 3D acceleration ruins everything. I really love HTC products until now (after HTCs comments on the GDI drivers).
Probably this would be my last PPC from HTC (I don't have the heart to buy another till this issue is fixed)
It is really annoying and worrying when the rendering is in a slow rate compared to other similar devices.

Yep I agree but what's the alternative?Nokia mainly uses Symbian OS.I wouldn't be satisfied with tiddly programs and lack of any real flexibility.Maybe ETEN could jump in.

The lack of drivers dosen't just effect video playback,it effects everything to do with redraw eg touching the screen. This device should be absolutely fantastic unfortunately it's average.I don't pay 500 gbp for an average device eg a n95!HTC have shown a total disregard for loyal customers and I for one won't be buying another HTC product.

I like it - it is a computer as much as a phone.
I have a question about power. I put the phone in standby before I go to bed, but when I wake up the battery is dead due to the phone being woken up by a program (?) maybe Skype or IM.
How do I prevent it coming out of standby overnight?
thanks,
Dave

ok I will tell you guys straight the TyTN II is a good pda but it definately lacks 3d acceleration.I compared with HTC Hermes and the hermes played tombraider np whereas the tytn II chugged along.I streamed video and again hermes preformance was far better.I don't know what current owners can do but at the least make yourself heard by complaining to your supplier.I've got an n95 and I've heckled nokia for nearly a year over it's crappy gps chip and constant rebooting-they released better firmware and the set works a good bit better but yeah it's far from perfect(still got to use opera mini for heavy web surfing)but we're getting there!
