Actually it also affects video acceleration. With the processor taking the full brunt of video decoding as well it shortens battery charge as well so it's implications extend beyond mere gaming.

Hey buddy this is window mobile 6 professional we are talking about.Office applications are fast and detailed. The pre-installed office apps are sufficient but should you need tht little bit extra their's a stack of 3rd party office applications.

I feel like owning this device but am verymuch interested in 2 things:
1. how's its speaker quality compared to P990 and N73.
2. how good and fast are the office applications compared to other PDA phones?
Anyone who can enlight me on that.
Thanks.

I\'m not concerned at all.Reason 1 I don\'t play many games, reason 2 if I did I still wouldn\'t buy an n95 or similar cell with 3d acceleration as the controls are absolutely useless for serious gaming!I\'ll take usable/useful hardware every single time. The kaiser has a great dual cpu, sensitive usable gps chipset, excellent wi-fi antenna etc Hardware that counts!

So... What do you guys think about the lack of 3D acceleration? The Qualcomm MSM7200 dual core CPU is supposed to support their "Q3D" protocol, but apparently the TyTN II doesn't have it implemented? Talk about total let down..

Hey that's true about the freeware apps.I was pretty amazed at A.the quantity and B the quality.Other platforms have nothing on windows Mobile when it comes to high quality software. That said i'm still searching for the best software keypad/board-any suggestions?

The loadspeaker is fine for TomTom and calls but yes it's not crystal clear if you want to use your pda phone as some sort of ghettoblaster!Change your mp3 for ringtone.Battery life isn't great but from the figures you stated I'd say you were in a bad reception area, perhaps constantly trying to lock on to 3G/HSDPA and so forth.Have you looked at the amount of freeware software keypads their is?http://freewareppc.com/utilities/utilities_datainput.shtml or try http://ppcwarez.org

Remember we are talking about a 2.8 inch screen here. It's nearly impossible for the human eye to tell the differences between 65k and 252k colours.Granted some manufactures play on gimmicks fortunately HTC do not.

I've had the tytn II for 5weeks,it's not crashed once so wm6 is very stable.Anyone who declares wm6 unstable is either lying or using a sub standard ppc. It's a powerful os and needs plenty rom,ram and cpu power-tytn II meets that criteria.Your question regarding video playback is somewhat confusing but nevertheless i'll give my option.Providing the video is encoded properly you will have no problems,as for audio again the tytnII provides excellent output through headset an yes their is adapters on the market.Memory cards compatible with the unit can theoretically go upto 32gig,i'm using a 4gig just now.Finally....Youtube works a treat through TCPMP.Treat yourself and buy this pocket rocket.

Ok this youtube query seems to keep popping up.This method works great and if you click the url the attached files are there.
Copied from here http://ppc-resource.blogspot.com/2007/09/youtube-and-google-video-tcpmp-plugin.html
For all you Tube-aholics, this is it! You now have direct, unfettered access to Youtube, Google Video & Veoh, in all their glory.
If you follow the instructions exactly and use the preconfigured TCPMP settings, you should be able to play videos smoothly if your network connection is adequate.
Requires pocket IE. This plugin will not work with Opera, NetFront, Picsel, etc. However, it is compatible with PiePlus.
1) If you already have a version of TCPMP installed, uninstall it now.
2) Install tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab
3) Install FlashVideoBundle.CAB attached (this MUST be installed in the same location as TCPMP)
4) Soft-reset
Audio is great through headset and yes their is an adapter to use different headphones. As for video's the screen colours don't really matter. It's all about how the video is encoded as to how well it plays.I'm using a 4gig sd micro without any problems and no crashes whatsoever.Wm6 needs a decent cpu and RAM.Luckily this device has both.Go for it mate as it's one brilliant pda.
