HTC U11 gains 1080p/60 video mode in the UK

Peter, 12 September 2017

An update enabled 1080p/60 video capture on the HTC U11 first in Taiwan and now in the UK too. The update appears similar, though it is a bit larger.

You’ll have to download 707MB to update to software version 1.27.91.4 while the Taiwan one was 663MB. Either way, we recommend downloading it over Wi-Fi.

The update also adds the “latest Android security update” (should be the August patch) and as well as the generic-sounding “system enhancements.”

Every important 2017 Android flagship should have 1080p at 60 fps enabled by default. In fact 1080p@60fps has been available on smartphone for some years now. Why is HTC lagging behind?
