AnonD-621510, 14 Jan 2017Stop it buddy. You embarassing yourself. Fans tried to boyc... moreLOL fans? You think this has something to do with HTC fanboys?
Think with your head and ask yourself, is this something the average consumer would want to see? HTC and Apple isn't making a product catered to the non existent "I don't want a headphone jack" group of people, they are trying to make an idiotic statement that all phones should drop the headphone jack.
To all techies and non techies, this is just blasphemy. The 3.5mm jack has been standardized so deeply into all electronic devices that it is common knowledge for one to 'plug in' a headset to consume audio. Companies that are trying to dethrone this stable piece of tech are just simply causing chaos. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You bitching but phone is king. I have Butterly 3 over year. Has 2k screen tv tuner built in etc etc. 2700 battery and works as a dream. HTV Ultra would be on my list as not chavvy Samsung or benefit Iphone.
Waiting for test sound on headphones and screen quality.

Anth0ny, 19 Jan 2017OLED is so efficient. yet samsung phones drain batteries li... moreYeah Samsung ruins the screen efficiency advantage by having a hungry UI.
The trouble is if HTC prices this like a flagship competing with the other 2017 flagships it will be at a huge disadvantage in battery life cos of the newer 10nm processor coupled with better batteries. And for a company that's struggling to stay relevant in the smartphone market that cld turn out to be a big blow.

just goes to show how much of a difference a "good U.I. and less bloat makes" in real world usage. not a "controlled lab"
so as you kind of said, wait to see the real world results. don't write it off based on a spec sheet

G3 and G4 are both almost 2 years old now so it won't be fair to compare them. Which is why I said recent smartphones.
But even if u did in both cases they had terrible battery life(much lower than all other flagships of their era) which is further evidence that 5.7'' 2k LCD and a 3k battery is not a good fit for each other

add note 5 to that list with a 5.7 inch screen same rez and same 3000 battery.
and what about the LG G3 and G4.
same rez same battery size. 0.2 inches smaller screen
and i know there is more.
i have the HTC ONE MAX with the 3300 internal battery and most people bitch about how big the phone is.
so don't be so hard one the HTC after all, Note 7 tried to go to 3500 and maintain the phone size and look how that turned out. :)
so you can't have it all like samsung tried with the note 7

SAMSUNG S7 lets use that as the example
it has the exact amount of pixels as this phone and the same size battery.
you may say this screen is bigger on this, but for LCD its the pixel count that matter, not really the size and each pixel. as the pixels don't self illuminate as pixels do for AMOLED.
LCD uses a simple back light to illuminate the screen and the back light for a 5.7 inch most likely not going to pull more power than the back-light for a 5.1 inch screen.

Anth0ny, 18 Jan 2017i'm not stupid. i know a bigger battery will last longer.
... moreU see that's the the trouble. The average phone with the same size battery is usually a 5inch or 5.5inch 1080p panel.
Tell me one recent phone with a 2k LCD display of similar size and battery capacity.
And ur right a light UI will help but that's usually with standby.
When ur watching videos, browsing or gaming, (which is the whole point of getting such a high spec smartphone) there's no where for the tiny battery to hide.

Th... morei'm not stupid. i know a bigger battery will last longer.
I'm just pointing out the fact the U.I. is more efficient. also with the greatly reduced work for the CPU to process redundant or bloated task, it would still last longer than the average phone with the same size battery (and i used Samsung as the perfect example of what i am talking about.)

AnonD-596087, 17 Jan 2017Are u for real man??? Sure the new 14nm chips are efficient... moreYour comment shows that u like to destroy htc.i never compare u ultra with any specific phone...and how u can compare it with amoled?my intention was about chinese phone and....and tell you many objectivity about u ultra and other phone
Htc10 has same battery with same resolution and is one of the best in compare to rivals with same specs.for ex: htc 10 battery life is 66h ans s7 with sd is about 64h or 62h with amoled.and if you are realist(but u r NOT) then you can find out that htc has better battery stamina with same specs.... and phones have other factors those affectes on battery endurance, those are resolution, SoC,and UI is very important and ... please speake about what you know at least some thing about it.if not be quite and just listen when you know nothing.
Also i know:
You know the truth that htc u ultra is very amazing, awesome and.... but you can't accept it because you are other brands bigotry(maybe samsung because you mentioned amoled and ...).
And why all of other brands fans coming to htc pages when htc introduces or releases very good and nice phones? Why?! I like htc, iphones and never go to other brands pages and never write negative comments about them and ....
Please be honest.

If only htc will pay attention to it customers. The design and build quality are great. All we wanted was a reduced bezel and improve battery ie above 3200mah.

Joel, 16 Jan 2017Exactly. should have been 3500 or higher.. hi dear Joel,as you know the new hardware are making in many advantage and are less battery consumption and more power/bttery friendly. if we have 3000mah battery in 2016 and stands X hour but in new year and with new hardware/tech that battery can stands X+n hour.in other hand we have to aware of many unreal advertising or specs...!!!! many of company introduced phone or phablet with ex:5000mah battery and said it will works about 100hurs but not different with 3000-3500 mah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and at the end have to tll that the htc u ultra is less than 8mm thickness.yes its about 7mm or 2/10 or 3/10 less. please look at the pctures and will see the main camera is stand alone in back. and it can be the just negative point for u ultra but not for scratch or damaging.just for less space for battery.i love the best design and phone that seat very good in palm and very comfort, not very slim like those pple and samsung advertising.....
over all u ultra is very sexy, usefull and powerfull.(sorry if i wrote ....)
goodluck dear jol
