After 24hrs of using this phobe, I must say I am little dissapointed. It looks great, have a great screen, even batt backup is ok. Store is where it's lacking behind Android. Internet explorer is s..t when you compare it to Chrome. Another major thing is that it don't have any file explorer. I'll use it for some time, try to get used on it, but I think I'll soon be back to Android. It's shame because I think WP8 have a lot of potential. Waithing for updates... :)

Have the latest version, put this launcher, that launcher, this app, that app. Honestly, I have only about 50 apps on phone and all of them are productivity/office/mail/root apps. I am not interested in games, except Carmageddon, only one that I have, but could live without. So, I am going for 8x. I like live tiles and simplicity of WP8. Thanks again mate!

AnonD-12555, 21 Sep 2013Hi guys! I have Optimus 4x and thinking about switch from A... moreI switched from Samsung Galaxy SIII to HTC 8X. And at the same time, I also have the iPhone 5 running IOS7 as my second phone (I have two phone lines).
The battery on the HTC 8X isn't that much to rave about but it isn't that bad too. I have my Cellular Data turned on and I have the LTE version (but limited my max speed to 3G -since my plan is only up to 3G). My Wifi is also always on. And it is only my Bluetooth which I turned off. I basically do the same thing in my old Samsung SIII with my HTC 8X and so far the Samsung SIII has a slight edge in battery life. One thing you do have to change though is to turn off NFC (it is turned on by default). Android and IOS seems have NFC turned off by default. So I don't know why WP8 has it turned ON by default.
Given that my usage is the same (surfing, mail, syncing of contacts/calendars, etc. facebook), it would last me for a day (at around 30% remaining battery by 8PM).
Applications are still lacking, especially the more popular games. Productivity apps though are ok. Especially with the Office app.
If you are adventurous, you might want to try the HTC 8X (windows 8 phone). But if you are not, then I would suggest waiting for a while until their apps in their store grow.
I remember way back (Android 1.6) when people would complain that it lacks the apps versus IOS. I still got the Android Phone because I liked its OS. But now Android eventually caught up. WP8 will eventually catch up (in the number of apps). For me, what I liked about the WP8 is the metro tiles! I kind of hate it on my notebook, but loved it on my ultraportable convertible notebook/tablet. And now I also love it on my phone.
The Peoples Tile/App is also very useful. One click and you can access Facebook/Twitter and other social networking sites. And you can see it as a tile in your WP. This is much like the widgets of Android, but is more integrated into the OS. IOS has no counterpart in this one.
So far am loving my HTC 8X and will continue to post more feedback on the HTC 8x.

The specs on the this site say it has an FM Radio but I can find no place else that says that. Actually I have read many reviews that say it does not have one.

Louis, 16 Sep 2013How accurate is the GPS and maps on the X? How does it... moreDepends on your area. Since Bing Maps is not yet as good as Google Maps, you can't expect much. I refuse to use GM though, and I'm pretty happy with BM, specially where you have free gps, like Berlin for example.

My phone's lighting was fading out so I thought I would shut down and take the battery out (before I realized you cannot remove the battery). Now all I can get is "GOODBYE" on the display. I cannot use this phone in any way. It seems to be locked!
What do I do?
