Seriously, I have a 4.3" screen with 480x800 resolution, and it's really just as much as you would need. 720p would be nice, but not neccessary. Think a little, 720p is probably the resolution of your laptop. Why'd you need a sharper one on a 7 times smaller display?
And these upcoming 2K mobile screens... They're nothing but a waste of energy.

But with GPS issues and Huawei is not doing something about it, that's pathetic. Maybe the GPS issues comes fixed with this release since the chipset is now Qualcomm?

hey guys ham1 owner here ...as i personnly used ham1 i belive fone has no issues perfomance wise bt its nt gamin gadget for sure ..i tot huaweis guys vill come out atlest wit 800snap and 2.6g dsp720p its fine for me on ham2 u droppp here

after see a lot of hype the design is good for a phablet ram is good could have been 2.5 gb, looks slim, screen 720 must have been upgraded to 1080 battery is best in industry and i have used mate 1 and P6 quality seems to be good and durable phones , processor i qual com had cam has sony lences so over all 9 out of 10 price is little on higher side, 399 usd would have been ideal and good buy on a whole its worth buying this phablet if you are a gaming freek..

Guys open your eyes.....it has quad core 1.6 Ghz Snapdragon S400 processer,2Gb ram,13mp camera,6.1 inch half hd IPS display,gorilla glass and 4050 mah battery superb.....!!!
It would be good choice.....!!!

I agree with the posters who say that 720p is plenty for a phone. I can't tell the difference, so why waste the resources.
The specs of the Mate 2 are slightly better than of its predecessor, but by any means doesn't justify the price. Since the Mate 1 was released, I was thinking about buying, but even that price was too high. I got a Blu Quattro 5.7 instead, and I love this phone despite all its issues. I would love to get a Mate 2 though...for $300...

i am the owner of the huawei ascend mate phone and i say it is the best mobile i had used till now dont hesitate to buy as it provides excellant services.even when my friends with other branded mobiles suffer from several issues am so relaxed with my phone.it has a magnificeint battery back up. go go for it guys

Do not buy this phone! I am using Huawei Ascend Mate and it has GPS issues! Until now Huawei company did NOTHING to fix GPS problems of Huawei Ascend Mate. It loses GPS signal all the time and sometimes it cannot find any satellites.

Except the resolution , It seems a nice phablet . Everyone have to admire that ascend mate series has excellent battery life .

1080p is like bluray and 720p is a normal hd so why everyone buy ps4 or xbox one? they can play with playstation 1 too.

funny, realyy funny, after those lots of advertisments on facebook and other websites they released a phone with no update from mate 1, why should someone pays usd 450 for this? to buy an old specifications in a new design?
