I saw this on Huawei website:http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/downloads/index.htm?keyword=mt7 "Huawei Mate 7 Firmware(MT7-TL10, Andriod 6.0, EMUI 4.0, C636B512, South Pacific, Channel-Others)" Can I update my Huawei Mate 7 Gold with this? I am from Philippines. Anyone tried this version? Please give feedback before I use this. Thank you.

If you are in a hurry to use marshmallow, you can try the middle east/Africa Huawei website or the Italian website. It has been uploaded there.

hi, Huawei Ascend mate 7 (2gb ram) or Nexus 5x? which one is better? should i replace Huawei in a couple of years for a better smartphone or it can last longer?

Coolstan, 01 May 2016Please stop confusing and feeding unsuspecting people wrong... moreThanks! I downloaded the zip from Huawei, extracted the zip and followed the install instructions in the document from there. I had to update a few of the google play related apps after the update but all seems well and I'm now running 5.1.1 with EMUI 3.1. I don't yet see the non-beta release for 6.0 on Huawei's official download site, so I'll check back for that later. In the mean time, I'm running Lollipop on my MT7-TL10.

You don't need to be a geek and you also don't need adb commands to update. All you need is to download the update.app file or update.zip file, put it in your dload folder and select the local update function.
Even an old granny can do that.

I have the Huawei Mate 7 (MT7-TL10), it's currently running 4.4.2. I almost upgraded to 5.1.1 but after reading so many folks reporting issues of battery drain, sluggishness, etc. I've decided to just keep on enjoying my phone as-is. I understand that the upgrade process is a bit tricky since you need to use ADB and run the update commands from the console; plus all your data gets scrubbed in the process - if you choose to go this route, backup your photos and such beforehand. My chops are rusty so before you ask for detailed steps, head over to the Google Android Developers site for upgrade instructions. If this sounds unfamiliar, ask a develop friend for some help or you may end up with a bricked phone. I really love the Mate 7 and I'm actually excited to hear about the upcoming Mate 9 later this year :-)
