If you are on Kit Kat you have to upgrade to Lollipop first then to Marshmallow. But it is well worth it feels like a new phone. I haven't noticed the battery life as yet. I have only upgraded 24 hours ago and I am not a gamer. But I am not sorry I upgraded.

I normally only write reviews when a piece of technology has made me angry. I purchased my Huawei Ascent Mate 7 MT7-TL10 from JB Hi Fi in Queensland, in Mid 2015 after my Samsung died and after I was ripped off by an eBayer trying to purchase a HTC.
So, I went in to JB Hi Fi and the Huawei had the best specs for the cash I had on hand. There was no other reason in purchasing a Huawei. I have made poor decisions in the past. In 2012, I purchased the Samsung based on reputation, it started freezing after 10 months Telstra wouldn't replace it but cancelled my plan so I could get a new phone on plan, so I purchased a HTC One XL in 2013 through another Telstra plan. The HTC still works but the battery is dodgy. So my 2 year Telstra plan was up and with the cash in hand I went to Ebay - then when that failed went to a retail shop. So I had low expectations of the Huawei Ascent Mate 7 when purchased Mid 2015.
It is now November 2016, therefore it has been over 18 months and I am usually sick of a phone by now, but not this one. I love the finger print sensor - it works perfectly. The upgrade to Marshmallow didn't go as planned but that is because I didn't read the instructions. I unzipped the file before I loaded it to the SD card - anyhow a hard reset later and we are good to go.
I love the themes and I love the simplicity of the icons. Each icon must be displayed like an apple phone i.e there is no app drawer but I am good with that. The battery life is spectacular. I left the phone at work for the weekend and it still had battery on Monday morning. Albeit 25%. The themes on Marshmallow are just beautiful. But I didn't mind the lack of themes on the Lollipop as I spend too much time working out which theme I want.
The settings at times is difficult to get around, but the upgrade to Marshmallow seems to have solved that mostly.
My main gripe is that the Smart Cover doesn't work on a case purchased from Ebay. But I pick the phone up, use the finger sensor and we are good to go. I have the sleep settings on at 1 minute.
Notifications dragged down from the top work well. Widgets are limited but there are still quite a few available and in truth all the widgets I need are there but. I can overcomplicate many aspects of my life so it is best that it is limited.
I live in a regional area in Queensland and I seem to get pretty good signal. Better than other phones I have had.
My Mum is changing over from a flip phone and wanted a smart phone for her birthday. My sister and I have agreed to purchase a Huawei GR5 in gold. It is still on lollipop but I have only briefly looked at it to set up emails and other preferences. It seems just as good. I hope it works out as well as my Huawei Ascend Mate 7.

Should i buy this mobile? Is it good? Is the secondary camera good? Are there any disadvantages for this mobile?

Hii...ive been using Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for the past 9 mths...and i should say im truly loving it...its the 16gb 2gb ram version...but it is still smooth n nt lagging even though its still running at 4.4.2...
Can i know from present or past users of this model..hw do i get it updated to either lollipop or the more recent marshmallow android version..tk u so much if anyone could share with me with my question...

Can anyone help me please? I make a backup via HiSuite and i send my mate7 to the costumer service because the bootloops. I has writh to the memo a very important code and i forget it and i make factory reset before i go to the c.s. Now i have found the memo.db in my computer and i didnt know how i can read it.i speak with huawei c.s and they said that only if someone with the same mobile,put the memo to the backup folder and make restore only the memos.
Can anyone help???
