Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro's screen resolutions uncovered

Vlad, 05 September 2018

Huawei is set to unveil the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro at a big event in London on October 16. Until then there's plenty of time to get many more leaks and rumors about them, so let's not skip a beat here.

According to information revealed through user agent profiles that are already posted on the Chinese company's website, the Mate 20 will come with 1080x2244 resolution, and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 - just like the P20 Pro, in fact.

On the other hand, the Mate 20 Pro will have 1440x3120 resolution, matching the LG G7 ThinQ and outdoing every other device out there by at least a few pixels. This corresponds with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, by the way. Both Huawei models should employ screen notches, but they may be of the newly trending 'waterdrop' variety (a la the Oppo R17 and vivo V11).

The Mate 20 that stars in that user agent profile has the model number HMA-L29, while the Mate 20 Pro is LYA-L29. The former has been rumored to ship with a 6.3" display, while the Pro is reportedly getting a humongous 6.9" panel.

Keep in mind that user agent profiles can sometimes be mistaken, though. The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro should both be powered by the recently unveiled Kirin 980 SoC, and boast a glass sandwich design, triple rear cameras, wireless charging, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, big batteries, as well as Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top.
