This is the best phone i have ever had.
I bought it in 2018, when i released. And just now i am buying a new phone.
It is amazing. Build quality, camera, screen. This was really amazing for the price.
And it survived 4 years!!! I wore it with no mask, still didnt break.
Sadly the time has come, the chipset is old... everything is starting to stutter.
On EMUI 12 it constantly locks the screen for no reason, back glass has peeled out of the phone.
This was truly an amazing phone. The last good phone Huawei made.

EMUI 12:
3D photo option removed.
Far fewer parameters for setting photo formats in the camera settings.
No information about Android version in phone settings
Much more problems with AndroidAuto / stability / bluetooth connection etc.
Top taskbar - not intuitive
And more.

After EMUI 12 update it was really laggy, but a restart fixed it. Feels as smooth as EMUI 10 now. Not really sure how I feel about the notification center and quick setting toggles being separated into an iOS-style thing. The permanent music widget in the control center is kinda wasting space, but at least it also works with Spotify. If it were working just with Huawei's Music app I'd absolutely hate it. Also I like the old text font better. The biggest advantage and the feature I love the most is the floating apps feature that allows for superior multitasking options. I can now open like 3 apps at once, e.g. two in split-screen and the third floating. Haven't tried if you can open even more floating apps though. The update also installs MeeTime and Celia Keyboard which I don't care about. I'm also not a fan of the animation when closing an app in the app switcher, I liked the old one more. The other new animations are nice though.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2022Yes, still no update in CroatiaIt's live in Croatia now. Also why did Huawei hide the Android version from the "About" screen? Now they only show the EMUI version. Is it to hide the fact that EMUI 12 is still Android 10?

EMUI 12 update for mate 20 lite is launched in eastern europe on 1st October.
Make sure to update, my phone runs better on EMUI12

Anonymous, 30 Sep 2022Still no EMUI 12 update in sight in BalkansI received the update automatically on September 24 in Serbia at 1 AM, DST Time Zone. I didn't have to previously click Check for Updates button, the notification just popped up on my screen asking me do I want to update it now or later.

Still a very good device. It performs all the tasks I give it so I won't change it for at least another year...

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2022I think it's based on Android 10 actually.Still android 10 because of the GMS support that older devices had. But it contains android 11 features.

These phone keyboard doesn't pop up while i want to set the lock in order to make the fingerprint work I don't know if anybody has same issue here and what's the solution to this
