I have this phone frome 3 and a half yera already. Its a backup device. My thoughts about this device is mixed.
First the pros:
-good battery life
-good build quality and feeling overall
-good support from Huawei
Now the cons:
-from the first year of usage, i notice the screen burn on my unit. In the beginning was slightly on the bottom where the dock icons are, after time the whole screen. Ghost images all over the screen.
-camera. Camera is absolutely poor imo. No matter photos or video. Image colours looks wash out and soft. Low light is poor. First, whe i bought this phone, in camera app settings have option for eis in video After few updates they removed that option and idk why. The camera quality was main reason to change this device.
-laggy and slow. On apps, menus, scrolling, games... Everywhere. Idk is for hardware or something os related, but the phone is slow. I almost every aspect.

Got the EMUI 12 update today, EMUI 12 is based off Android 11 tho. Keep that in mind. That said, i have been playing games and i can notice there is an improvement. You have to restart the phone for the slowdown after update to go. But i am impressed , 4 years updates for a midrange? Tell that to Samsung

Pana , 22 Aug 2022How ca I update my emui version you can go to the settings of the phone and search for software update or using huawei care.
but i warn you your phones touchscreen may not respond after the update ( that happend to my phone.) So you can do it at your own risk!

Have you noticed slight battery improvement with the latest Emui 12? I notice a slightly better battery life.
Otherwise, it runs as fast as with previous emui updates, but still the out of the box software was the fastest ever, updates made the phone a little sluggish.

Received EMUI 12 in Bulgaria also. Good job from Hiawei. 4 yrs old, midrange device still updated.

I have the phone since early 2019 and due to my short temper, it often happens that I throw him, push him, step on him, kick him, etc. and I can say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it (given that it is glass front and back). An exceptional smartphone. When I don't use it often, its battery lasts for 3 days. 4 gigabytes of RAM is still enough nowadays to do everything with this phone. And works with google store wich is perfect. I am with EMUI 11.

I have had this phone since January, 2019. and i have never had any issues with it. Battery is still ok. I charge it every day, but i also use it a lot.

i used it for 4 years and it died today. I am very greatful with that and I can recomend it to anzone. By the way, only problem is camera.

Good phone, camera bit lacking in non-perfect conditions, but overall other aspects are really good. Only thing missing is wireless charging and new OS updates. Seems like it won't be supported anymore with new software updates and security patches. Mine is stuck on EMUI 10.0.0.290 (Android 10) with the 1 September 2021 security patch. Didn't have any problems with the phone, except the battery swelling and image retention on the screen. I sent it in for a warranty repair a year ago for the battery and they replaced the battery and the screen and charging port, all for free. The battery is still good, the screen was good too, but the image retention/ghosting problem is coming back. It's not a deal breaker, but it can get a bit annoying sometimes when the screen shows the same UI element for a while and leaves an outline for a couple of minutes after.

I have this phone since December 2018 and haven't had a single issue. Battery life is pretty decent, you can have a regular use and still have battery for the next day, but once you get to the 10%, it will decrease pretty fast and will turn off at 3%.
I think the pro mode of the camera is pretty cool if you know how to use it. Using a tripod you can make astrophotography.
