Great phone ever. My on EMUI12 no issues.. Battery life it is good and everything going smooth

sabrex, 04 Aug 2022I have an LYA-L0C model in Canada (from Fido) and EMUI vers... moreNo way. Android 10 is the end of Mate20 series. The latest firmware now is EMUI12 based on Android 10. You may probably get EMUI 13 based on android 10 perhaps in future.
Due to this cruel ending, i just bought samsung note 20 5g last week. but i still keeping my mate 20 pro 8/256.
Frankly speaking, mate20 pro is smoother, faster, snappier, easier to hold and lighter.
Changed to note 20 mainly because 1. S pen, 2. newer android firmware update.

I have an LYA-L0C model in Canada (from Fido) and EMUI version is 11.0.0 (based on Android 10). My employer now requires all phones to have at least Android 11, and I really love this phone so don't want to replace it. Is there any way to manually install EMUI 12 with Android 11 on this phone in Canada?

It's still really fast, I don't think I have seen any slowing down. I have dropped it million times and the main screen is still 100% okay, only camera glass is cracked now. Also when I bought it the camera was just amazing, I think it was pretty much the best at that time. But now because it has been dropped so many times it ain't that good anymore. Battery life has suddenly went down a lot, but I am kinda heavy user! Also charging port can't really hold my charger in anymore. But all thosr problems occured on year 3 of ownership.
Otherwise it has been a very good boy, served me well!!

bought when it was first released back in 2018 and still use it and my only phone ... last yeas i got and offer to replace the battery for like 30$ from Huawei store... still working as day one..... cant find anything to replace it with...

im on emui12 now, the battery seems suck and most likely SOT about 5 hours only. used tobe 6~7 hours before upgrade to emui 12. Am i the only person facing this? any solution beside downgrade to emui11.

Although even a mint one has a 4 year old battery and a refurbished one will have losts it's ip rating (unless from a Huawei factory)

johnnynikola, 29 May 2022Don't update to emui 12, it destroys this phone, makes... moreI update the the latest one and I've had no problems at all I still love this phone its still as fast as the s20 in use yes it falls behind in benchmarks but its not about that it's about the feel and use of the phone and the camara well I haven't found a better one and I will not be changing this phone until it dies I did try the p40 but ended up selling it and going back to this phone as one it feels amazing in the hand and its got full access the the play store so with this I can use the nationwide app that I couldn't on the p40 because updates through petal are never there when you need them and if you don't update banking apps when they say the app becomes unusable nightmare.
Anyone reading this you need to try one of these phones before you say there to old and check out some of there specs ie up to 8gb ram, 40mp + 20mp + 8mp Leica camaras on the rear and a 24mp camera on the front, oled curved 538ppi screen, ir blaster, full gorilla glass 5 front and rear, IP68 so water proof and dust proof, stereo speakers, under screen finger print reader, 40W fast charge wire less 15W charge and reverse charge the list goes on and on and it still capable of hitting 500,000 on antutu 9 now that's crazy for a phone that launched in 2018 and they can be picked up for around £200 for a mint as new one it's a no brainer 😁
