finally changed out of this phone after 3 years plus. Changed battery after year 2. Now it's my media phone. The screen and its pixel density is still one of the best today.
I think as a spare phone , the mate 20 pro can last for another 2 years. LETS GOOOO.
Too bad Huawei got kicked out of America. They were doing so many things right. Oh well. Politics. GG Huawei.

Great phone ever. My on EMUI12 no issues.. Battery life it is good and everything going smooth

sabrex, 04 Aug 2022I have an LYA-L0C model in Canada (from Fido) and EMUI vers... moreNo way. Android 10 is the end of Mate20 series. The latest firmware now is EMUI12 based on Android 10. You may probably get EMUI 13 based on android 10 perhaps in future.
Due to this cruel ending, i just bought samsung note 20 5g last week. but i still keeping my mate 20 pro 8/256.
Frankly speaking, mate20 pro is smoother, faster, snappier, easier to hold and lighter.
Changed to note 20 mainly because 1. S pen, 2. newer android firmware update.

I have an LYA-L0C model in Canada (from Fido) and EMUI version is 11.0.0 (based on Android 10). My employer now requires all phones to have at least Android 11, and I really love this phone so don't want to replace it. Is there any way to manually install EMUI 12 with Android 11 on this phone in Canada?

It's still really fast, I don't think I have seen any slowing down. I have dropped it million times and the main screen is still 100% okay, only camera glass is cracked now. Also when I bought it the camera was just amazing, I think it was pretty much the best at that time. But now because it has been dropped so many times it ain't that good anymore. Battery life has suddenly went down a lot, but I am kinda heavy user! Also charging port can't really hold my charger in anymore. But all thosr problems occured on year 3 of ownership.
Otherwise it has been a very good boy, served me well!!
