      I'm always sceptical about installing new gen softwares to my phones in case they slow down. The reason I left apple for Huawei was because continual updated actyally killed my iPhone 6.

      Will the same happen with the Emui 12? My mate 20 pro has the previously software and only shows some signs of battery inefficiency compared to when I bought it.

      I love this phone and want to keep it going as long as possible!

        Unfortunatly, this great phone updated to EMUI12 crashed my option to use my Samsung Galaxy Watch (several others repport the same).
        I guess its time to replace my phone now. Its has been the best phone I ever had, but I can not accept, not to be able to use my Watch for calls, notification etc.. I cant wait for a fix, since this has been ongoing for several weeks now. I could roll back to EMUI11, but thats pointless, as I would need to restart everything (according to Huawei). Then I might as well replace the phone with an up-to date.

            Whistex, 17 Apr 2022Bruh I got since the Announcement of android 11 Based on Em... moreEver since the US trade ban on Huawei since Apr 2019, Huawei is not allowed legally to use Google services nor android. Mate 20 pro got its Android 10 upgrade just before the ban came into effect. Hence no more android upgrades to any Huawei phones after 2019. Emui incremental upgrages like Emui v10, v11, v12 etc doesn't necessarily mean over android 10, or 11 or 12. Emui 12 on Mate 20 pro is just Emui skin on base android 10. That's what I meant by...we will have to stick to android 10 on our Mate 20 pro. Of course Mate 20 pro in some regions like China, Hong Kong etc will get Huawei Harmony OS upgrade.

              EMUI 12 based on Android 10.
              Most noticeable change is the user interface only. font, color, icon placing.

                I received EMUI 12 Update on April 1st in Germany.

                    So it is no longer relevant to compare EMUI based on Android version.

                                Updates are rolled out in batches. Please keep checking for updates through the system update app and also through the myhuawei app. You will definitely get it soon. By the way my region is UK

                                    Updated to EMUI 12.0.0.132 today on my LYA-L29 Global. Visible changelog below:
                                    -In boot screen "Powered by Android" Logo removed
                                    -In "About Phone" menu, android version number is no longer visible (though still based on android 10)
                                    -New control center in notification shade swipe down
                                    -Onscreen fingerprint is greatly improved
                                    -Big folder option
                                    -Device+ added
                                    -No double tap to screen unlock
                                    -No call recorder option (tough can be enabled by installing an app for EMUI 11)
                                    -No native carrier video call option while using VoWiFi (only voice call possible on VoWiFi)
                                    -No dual video in camera added
                                    -Camera watermark text still can't be edited
                                    -Added Huawei MeeTime app
                                    -Android security patch updated to 1-2-2022
                                    - In camera app, the auto switching to Macro lens has become buggy (not working everytime when camera is brought closer to subject)
                                    - Selfie camera is still not improved, (its still horrible)
