Hi all.. my battery life was okay.. last me a good 2 days with average usage.. however, after I update to the latest system software 158, the battery life got worse! Just on stand by with auto roaming (no usage).. it dropped from 91℅ to 55℅ in half a day!!! Ridiculous..

I am the proud owner of the very good LG G4. After almost 2 years the screen broke and to replace it would cost me 150€. After reading a lot here on GSMArena I decided to buy the Huawei Mate 9. When you look at the specs, this is a serious upgrade, but is it?
First thing you notice, the screen... Wow... Real vivid colours, deep black, a lot bigger then the screen of my LG G4.
Mate 9: 1 - LG G4: 0
Battery. I had to charge my battery 2 times per day, now it lasts a whole day.
Mate 9: 2 - LG G4: 0
Chipset. My new Mate 9 starts a lot faster when I put it on, when I scroll websites, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumbler,... It goes smooth, no hiccups, ... On my old LG G4 sometimes the page feels washed and blurry.
Mate 9: 3 - LG G4: 0
Software: Here I miss my old LG, maybe it's just me, so used on my LG that I find it hard to adapt to the new EMUI software... But now a clear win for LG
Mate 9: 3 - LG G4: 1
Camera: the dual camera of the Mate 9 is bigger and has a lot more fun options. But in low light I feel that my old LG still produces more clear, detail rich pictures... I think this is because of the f2.2 lens compared to the f1.8 used in the LG G4. Also the LG G4 has 16MP and the Mate 9 only 12MP...

I own the Mate 9 just 7 days, so after a month or two I may have changed my opinion on some matters. But now, the Mate 9 won.
Is it worth the upgrade? If you have to buy a new phone, you will love the Mate 9 it's a great phone, but if my LG G4 screen did not break I could have waited for the Huawei P10 Plus (for the f1,8 lens) or maybe even the Huawei Mate 10...

After reading a lot about LG G6, HTC U Ultra and Samsung S8+ I decided today to buy the Huawei Mate 9.
It's alle about getting the best specs and quality for it's price. I got it for 577€ in Belgium. Most shops ask 699€.
Next week I will post a small review here.

Honestly s8 will be hard to make me sell my v20

I would go for it too with all the specs and customers satisfaction, but sometimes I am picky with brand name. Hehe. That's the only reason I never bought OnePlus3T.
I think you should go for it if the problem persist and Imma sell my Mate 9 and get Galaxy C9 pro if I face the same.
But I want to be with Mate 9 coz I liked everything about it except this sh!tty battery problem.

I feel most of the people buy iPhone just to be considered in the cool league.
But personally, I have never liked iPhone, not coz of price or whatever. It just makes you feel so controlled by it rather than you controlling the phone.
Lots of restrictions and not user friendly. Plus most of the apps are to be purchased.
Maintenance is expensive.
When you can get equal or better specs than iPhone with Huawei, Samsung, LG or any other reputed brand and that too at a much cheaper or cheaper price, why burn your own pocket?
I would say stick with V20. I heard and read many reviews of V20 being very good.
I am not an expert.
I am just sharing my 20 cents thought. Lol

I checked yesterday for any system update and there was none.
However I did that just now when I became free and there is an update available but it is b156. I hope it still is better than b138.
I love this phone so much. It's just that battery life got on my nerves. First 3 days were awesome untill I got the update note which I did to b138.
I hope it gets better now. thanks again bro. Kind of you.
By the way if battery problem persists, I might go for Samsung C 9 Pro. It has better specs than Mate 9. But it ain't available in Paris atm :-(
