I have a US version Mate 9, which is still on EMUI 8.0.0 (Android 8.0.0). I hope Huawei will find time to update the OS. It will be my last Huawei phone anyway, because Mate 20 doesn't have Google Services and Google Play.

You may want to compare the speed grade of the cards available with you, e.g., class 4, class 10, UHS I, UHS I A2, etc. Typically, the cards also mentions read/write speeds now-a-days. So, you can compare them easily.

Got this phone in 2017.. Still using the same in 2019.. My phone recently was updated to pie 9 with 9.1 still smooth with no lag... Processor is damm high.. Pubg is almost playable in hd high graphic with 30 fps.. Good color with no lag... But i consider to buy other smartphone in 2019 since smartphone are gefting cheaper with high specs day by day

Lol they didn't want this being worse than the pro so they had to cripple it with a lower res lcd and less ram/storage options.

I've had this phone for 13.5 months and it performs very well. A few nitpicks, and at one point it started to run slow, about 11 months in, so I did a hard reset and all is well again. (Probably a misbehaved app?) I've dropped the phone a few times, without protection, and where other phones might have had their screens crack, I have some mild bleeds only on my screen. Now if I can just put stock Android on it.....
FYI, if it helps my carrier is T-Mobile and bought the phone from Amazon Warehouse.

Girao, 16 Sep 2019I hi habé a stupid problem with this phone, it works... moreInstall island app and activate its god mode by adb and the freeze these two app so they can't enabled untill you do it with island.
Although don't freeze other system apps that are for Huawei, because after that may be your phone stuck in boot loop.
Also i suggest you to freeze play store also (not play service) and unfreeze it manually when you want to use it.

My device has been great since I bought back in 201. After update with Android 9.0 and onwards, my device has been heating up everytime I play games or use the camera for sometime which is not happening before. I dunno if this is just something that is triggered by the updates itself to force us to upgrade and buy new devices. I hope Huawei don't do such stupid sales strategy.

Am using mate 9 since 2017.recently got an updation of EMUI 9.1.0 after this updation phone getting struck and some time getting slow while using the phone. If some body felt the same pls comment.
