So weird... There's no news about Mate 9 benchmark score. Perhaps its antutu score is lower than iphone 7 or slightly lower than sd820/821 phones just because of still using 16nm instead of newer 10nm manufacturing process even though using newer Cortex A73.

With 1440p you get lower battery life, lower FPS for games, more overheating and higher price.
The benefit is just hardly noticeable sharpness.

Hello.
The Mate 9 has a MIDDLE camera still, which TechLord already talked about.
But Galaxy S7 users are pissed off now: the Mate 9 beats the S7 in the german ranklist: http://www.chip.de/bestenlisten/Bestenliste-Handys--index/index/id/900/
However, the S7 is still water-protected, has F1.7, bigger pixels, pulse measurement sensor and the Mate 9 is the first 2160p phone from Huawei.
The Mate 9 has no stylus and physical screen buttons.

4) 4 GB of RAM is more than enough
5) You can get the 6 GB of RAM model with 128 GB of ROM
6) Who said it wouldn't last more than the Mate8?
7) It does real multitasking.

I bet you didn't even use it before and just jump to the conclusion. I'm a Mate7 & 8 user and planning to buy this 9. The only thing I can tell you is that Smoothest Android phone I had ever used, I can tell even better than ios. I'm not bluffing or joking. iOS and iphone is nothing but a joke now after Steve Jobs passed away. Cos' it started to copy every features of android and lost it's own stand. It's kinda sad.

It is extreme overkill for such a small display, as it only manages to drain the battery even faster, with very little to 0 noticeable change in sharpness on a small screen. The ability to record 4K is so it is capable of outputting onto a Computer with a 4K display beautifully, or onto a 4K TV, where it actually matters.
The current trend of QHD (2160p...half of 4K) displays are honestly, maxed out on what the human eye can perceive on a small screen...The only true benefit of 4K on a phone display is VR...that's about it.
Huawei has stuck with 1080p as they firmly believe even QHD is a waste, because the output is barely noticeable on a small screen, and even that serves to just be a battery drain.
