literally the worst phone i have ever owned. smartphones i had before it were symbian phones, then a htc desire, wildfire and one m8 and one x. this Huawei is the worst phone i have ever owned. got it in december 2015 and from very early it had battery issues, now the battery doesnt last longer than 20 minutes and shuts down at 60%. Apps crash a lot, apps often seem sluggish, i have always found the camera to be horrendous with patchy images especially at night time, they pics are horrid. i have reset the phone numerous times and tried all the fixes with no joy. the phone recently updated to android 8.1.0 and its now become slower with micro pauses and it wont now connect to 3G or 4G even after another factory and cache reset and just installing basic apps like whatsapp. i have become so annoyed with it i have thrown it as the wall a few times. ill just buy a cheaper phone next when my contract runs out end of december 2017, a phone with removable battery. all these non removable battery phones are crap anyway by end of year one.! Never touching Huawei again!!! naff!

Keeping updated but also factory data reset wipes memory of unnecessary bits the device needs to try and hang onto. I also carry a 10,000 MW type C port rechargeable back up battery and type C cable so I can charge the phone quick when I'm not using it right then. Great idea about keeping a standard type USB cable I also do that when it's on my desk. Android software Nougat, has suggested the on device photo cache could be trimmed from time to time to help with battery life and I have done this too.

Then to put back together becomes the issue. I guess there are no smart phones with true replaceable batteries anymore i.e. open back and replace as quickly as this sentence. I'll give the replace a miss and express my disappointment with a warranty claim.

Excellent phone but way too expensive for the duration of the battery. Got my phone 13 months ago and had to change the whole phone since it is impossible to change only the battery. That is simply unacceptable. You don't pay that price for a year of usage. And why throw away a good phone only for a dead battery?

For all those people experiencing battery drain issues, let's try these steps:
1. update to latest Android version and then root using magisk.zip latest version.
2.Remove all system apps from phone which you find useless or never used using titanium backup apk.
3.replace google now launcher with pixel 2 xl modded launcher (nexusprebuiltlauncher.apk) and then delete stock goggle now launcher.
4.Always keep brightness minimum and turnoff adaptive automatic brightness change.Turn on adaptive Brightness only when using phone in dark.since, this lower the brightness to real minimum than manual minimum brightness.
5.use dark wallpapers like grey or black like.
6.charge your phone with normal charger of 1amp instead of fast charger. This will increase battery life and produces less heat.use fast charger only when yiu are in hurry.
7.Use VIBRAFIX APK from playstore to mute all annoying vibration like fingerprint, double press power buttton,ok google response etc etc. This will increase battery life.
Turn off vibration,notifications,touch etc sound.
8. Alwayas update each third party apps for less battery consumption.
9.use greenify to hibernate apps which doesn't require to in the background all the time except whatspp, imo etc.
10.Customize your phone setting to basic simple and less features.
11. Alwayas keep eye on battery consumption in setting by individual apps.
12. Don't use phone while charging.
13.Prefer to charge in switchoff mode.
14.Turnoff data, location, auto rotation, sync, Bluetooth, wifi auto search etc. when not in use.
15.Use ad blocking lists to add in hosts file to block all ads.
search in xda mother of all ad blocking sites.replace your hosts file with this.
16. Turn off all unnecessary features in settings.

Guys.. I am using this phone for last 14 months... This Nexus 6p is good with camera and sound but it has two major issues... One is battery die down fast and the next one is the major one Bootloop issue.... So many peoples are facing this issue with this nexus 6p.. If the problem detected under warranty time then you are lucky.... There is no replacement for out of warranty people ... This phone used to struggle with new updates and crashes down it's motherboard... If i bought a mobile for rs 30000/-.. It goes for 13 months that is meaningless... If you want to repair the motherboard then It will cost 23000/-....so my suggestion is don't buy this mobile... If this Bootloop issue occurs in nexus 6p then neither huwai or Google want to attain it..... They will play some blame game and they will swing you as pendulum...For wise people it's more than enough....

Battery is probably dead. If it is that it's not related to software. It's just charging the phone day by day for about a year and a half.

Have owned the phone for about 18 months time to trash it. Poor sound quality most of the time (even though i am on a major wireless network). Severe Battery issues........phone shows Zero battery and shuts off when it reaches 40% - 45% battery level. plugin the charger and it shows it has 50% charge. the charge holds for less than 4 hours of use a day. wend through the drill of deleting apps, factory reset etc....but no change to the phone...
I had left the Apple camp about 4 years back, first tried the HTC 1, which had to be trashed after a about 2 years, thought being a google product would help and choose the Nexus 6P and time to trash the phone after 18 months.
Guess it is time to go back to the Apple Tree :(

What version of Android are you using? This battery issue only seemed to happen to me after updating to 7, wondering if maybe I should downgrade to 6 or upgrade to 8 until this is fixed.
I am also having the exact same problem, my phone only lasts for basically an hour if I actually use it, and definitely shuts down at 25% if not sometimes at a higher percentage. Sometimes even around 35% when watching a YouTube video or my phone is *slightly* could from waiting for the bus...

Neither Google nor Huawei will take responsibility for this battery drain issue that makes the phone unusable. If you are under warranty, you will have some options but if you're not then you're screwed. Which really sucks since the phone can be just over a year old, in excellent condition otherwise but basically becomes unusable like so many people have noted.

Hi all - frustrated owner of a 6P where the phone is basically useless due to the battery/power issues. This really needs to be fixed, especially after the microphone situation. Mine will go from 100-25% in a couple hours and then shut off at 25%.
Was really looking forward and equally disappointed with the Oreo update.
