The reference to car audio is perhaps a little different as customers can usually choose from a range of products ( I have an Audi A6 and it has the Harmon Kardon 7 speaker setup (with subwoofer which isnt available in the Bose version)). But the camera on the P9/P9 plus isn't optional so it stands without an alternative. However the Nexus 6p is made by Huawei it's camera has been reviewed and has received decent reviews. Leica would improve a product they've put their name to, not just "sign off" on a device to accredit it to boost sales.

Hello friends
Any idea whether the new p9 with 3GB and 4GB RAM will be sold on India?
Really like what I am seeing as far as specs and reviews go by
Also in most speed tests the P9 is the 3rd fastest phone available in market just behind the iphone 6s and latest S7, beating the likes of LG G5 and HTC 10, add to it 1080p display the battery life too seems impressive
Even if its priced at say 45000 Rs I think its a worthy and option

I using P8 from a year and completely satisfy. but now battery is giving problem about duration. Now I am planing for P9 and checking the reviews. my 1st requirement is dual sim and 64GB HD

BOSE suppose to be top brand in audio but unfortunately I do not hear any difference from average speakers. Things like Harman Kardon speakars Leica camera in phones are just marketing gimmicks to pump up sales. Brands like Mazda and Huawei think that if they put premium brand name it will attract buyers and they are right. I bet Huawei paid a lot of money for putting Leica logo on their phones. Leica had to approve and probably test the camera so that they do not discredit themselves by branding crapy product but I doubt Leica did any meaningful job on camera modul. Huawei camera might be good but Leica name on it does not make it better than in other flagship phones.

Huawei P series like Samsung S series
Huawei Mate series like Samsung Note series but just Mate don't have pen......both company is great include Sony company.....

€700 for p9 plus! Yes I see!! Who is was said : €700 for htc 10 very expensive !? P9 plus with kirin 955 also htc 10 with Snap 820!! Compare between p9 plus with htc 10 by yourself.

If Leica have their name on it, it will be the best camera they could co-engineer with Huawei (within the parameters of the device).
I'm completely baffled by the response of those dismissing this partnership as lies or some kind of con-job. It is what it is.. Unless you own one and can speak competently about its successes and it's shortcomings.

In February, Huawei and Leica announced a long-term strategic partnership. The camera function is the most used smartphone application and our aim is to bring it up to the high standards demanded by the Leica product philosophy. Leica brings to the cooperation their expertise gathered from decades of experience in optical engineering and optical design. The collaboration between Huawei and Leica aims to deliver the best possible picture quality in the smartphone segment.
Both companies have been working closely to co-engineer Huawei’s recently launched premium smartphone – the P9 – based on innovation and excellent craftsmanship.
The camera module of the P9 series and the achievable picture quality is the result of the intensive technological collaboration between Huawei and Leica. Leica has been deeply involved in the development of the camera-module of the P9 and P9 Plus. Our joint objective was to achieve the best possible image results and optical imaging performance in order to provide consumers in the smartphone photography segment with the best possible picture quality. The result raises smartphone photography to an entirely new level.
Our co-engineering is deeply embedded in the product and Leica’s contribution has involved:
Collaborative development, evaluation and optimization of optical design (lens calculation) in compliance with Leica standards.
Collaborative development of the mechanical construction of the camera module to reduce stray light effects (“ghost and flare”).
Definition of imaging quality in terms of color rendition/color fidelity, white balance, stray light reduction (“ghost & flare effects”), exposure precision, dynamic range, sharpness and noise characteristics.
Processing of image data with the aid of long-standing Leica optical and signal processing expertise.
Definition of the most stringent common quality standards and production requirements for serial production by Huawei to ensure consistently high quality.
Leica’s globally recognized expertise is based to a large extent on the ability to guarantee the narrowest tolerances on the market. This justifiable claim to excellence is naturally also an integral component of the technology partnership and is implemented in Huawei’s production processes of the P9 camera module to ensure uncompromising quality.
Other companies have collaborated to produce an improved product.. Nokia/Microsoft and Carl Zeiss.. I don't recall any suggestions that they were lying. I feel it's unlikely that a very high quality brand like Leica would allow their name to be attached to any product that would diminish or tarnish their high reputation.

I need a solid business phone with good screen real eastate. I am disappointed that Huawei drastically received the p9 plus screen size to 5.5. My LG G4 already comes with a 5.5 so i was hoping for at least a 6in fat boy.

Be warned that Huawei just paid to use Leicas logo. Leica had nothing to do with development of a camera for P9 phones. They just certified it (whatever that means). Just a trick to attract buyers and increase sales by Huawei. Photo quality of P9 is average at best. Leica must be really in need of financing if it sells right to use its logo on the products of average quality.
